The Play Off Push.

The Play Off Push.

Well, if we beat Notts County next week, and Carlisle lose to Charlton - who incidently if they win can not only get promoted, can win the league dependant on other results - we go 6th. Then we all become Stevenage fans the Tuesday after as Stevenage beat Carlisle............

The Play Off Push.

Well, that isn't a bad result at all.

It makes Saturdays game completely decisive in our season. An absolute must-win game.

The Play Off Push.

Great results today - we draw away and Carlisle and Stevenage only draw at home. Would happily have taken that at 3pm. Four cup finals now. Who'd have thought that at the start of March? Great effort by the team and those who trekked to Hartlepool today.

The Play Off Push.

I don't see anything having changed, ok Notts won, but us, Stevenage and Carlisle all drew.

We will need to beat County, and will need to beat Stevenage, but that was the case anyway. Saturday is vital, but today didn't help nor hinder our play-off push imo. It was always a tough ask going to Hartlepool 2 days after a game.

The Play Off Push.

Not a bad point, we probably still have to win 3 of the last 4 but nobody would have expected us to win 5 in a row so who knows. A win on saturday puts us above notts county and if Charlton beat Carlisle then we go 6th.

Saturday is huge now, who knows, big crowd, one off shirt, good following from Notts County it is all set up for a cracker, i'd expect at least 6-7k crowd.

Beat County, Stevenage and probably already relegated Chesterfield and get a point against Sheffield Wednesday and 73 points might be enough.

Biggest game since Swansea playoff under Allen 2006?

What rot. We were away and everyone else was at home. To come out of it only very slightly down and with Notts County at home. It's been a good day.

The Play Off Push.

very good draw, almost amazing with Stvenage losing until the dying minutes and county level until the dying minutes, ive not been that excited watching the score centre on tele for years

The Play Off Push.

Everyone needs to be at GP on saturday, Voice needs to get a thread together. GP needs to be packed and rocking. Nelson, Bishop and Hughes all need some stick!

100%, Carlisle are the big losers today, they must be gutted, home banker before the game, 2 big points dropped. If that was us the GPG would be going mad about how we always bottle it, etc, etc.

The Play Off Push.

3 wins out of 4 is required IMO... if that means drawing against Notts County and beating Sheffield Wednesday then so be it.

Two extra points would maybe have allowed us a little more breathing space in the remaining four tough fixtures though so I understand the point.

Irrespective of that, I am almost 100% certain that four wins will see us into that sixth spot and County will not be looking forward to their trip to GP on Saturday. :sorted:

The Play Off Push.

please no, our win rate when one of those threads appears is shocking.

Perhaps he can leave it then ;) GP must be packed on saturday, no excuses...... unless your skint/working/in prison/dead/living abroad ;)

:nono: Notts County is easily our biggest game, a 6 pointer we must win in terms of position and goal difference.

Notts have an easier run-in than most, we need to demoralise them with a victory. A draw or loss kills our chances.

The Play Off Push.

Enjoying the end of season although not good for the pulse rate!!!

Still feel that we probably will fall short however whilst there is life there is hope!!!

Some massive games coming up and common sence suggests that to beat County, Stevenage and Wednesday would be highly unlikely but well done to all the players and management for making it one hell of a finish!!

The Play Off Push.

Expecting a very big crowd for the Notts County game, should be 10k IMO.

The Play Off Push.

From the despair of the Leyton Orient and Bournemouth games- here we are today. Let's get the noise going for the Notts game. All to play for!!!!

The Play Off Push.

We still need 75 to be sure I Think

The Play Off Push.

Carlisle have Charlton, Stevenage (away) and Sheff Weds (away) in eight days!!

Win Saturday against Notts County and I reckon it will be in our hands....

The Play Off Push.

Why does everyone keep worrying about County. If we beat them were level with at least a 4 goal better GD. Carlisle are the only one where our fate is not in our own hands. if they get 10 points from their 5 games we cant make it, End of. We really need them to get no better than a draw at home to Charlton, the same at Stevenage and to lose at Wednesday. That would give them a max of 8 points and still leave us needing to win all our games.
Its got to be 4-1 on them making it and 4-1 against the other 3 of us. We really have to hope they lose to either Charlton or Stevenage which would mean we could afford to draw a game. That is about the best scenario that we can hope for.
But I still believe we can do it especially if the crowd really get behind the team for the 2 home games.

The Play Off Push.

County only need the draw, it aint gonna be pretty but we'll give it a good go! Some one needs to put Lloyd Sam in the New Road early doors.

Its Brentford only in the New Road! Dont start that again ;)

Agree, then Wycombe to get at least a point against them at their place. Then we get into play-offs on GD. Simples ! ;-)

The Play Off Push.

Last 4 meetings @ GP v County

3 Draws 1 Away win

3 Red cards

Park the bus for them...

Based on the remaining games todays result sees Notts County in pole position.

Both us and Carlisle have tough fixtures against Stevenage & Wednesday. Carlisle will do well to get points in their next 3, as will we. Notts County will expect to win their remaining fixtures, and could probably afford a draw against us.

They are a massive threat and only us winnning on Saturday can seriously dent their chances. We have to focus on Notts, because they are the only team we can affect.

Agreed. I see County as favourites for the play offs, even if we beat them I think we are likely to drop points against Wednesday in which case they can slip in by winning their remaining games.

Good result today, a massive game this Sat at GP and all to play for.
YoooooRedzzzzzzzz.

William Hills go:-

Carlisle 7/1
Notts County 10/1
Brentford 25/1

The Play Off Push.

So what if we are outsiders, that is the best position to be in. **** Notts county. Lets hope all bees fans turn up in their numbers, and in a positive mood. We have a chance, a really good chance. Lets not bottle it. Be positive and go for four wins. If we fail we fail, but fair play to the boy's they have gone for it. Lets hope we give it a bloody good go. Fans get off your arses and bee there Sat.

Actually just seen Wycombe's remaining games and I think they'll be facked by the time they play County ;-( and useless buggers lost 4-0 to Chesterfield today !! hopeless

The Play Off Push.

A cliche I know but we need to forget the other teams and just concentrate on doing what we have been doing over the last six games, four wins or even three and a draw might just be enough! I am just delighted that we are in with a shout with four games left, enjoying every minute!

Doesn't always work that way. Often doomed sides pull off results. Don't know why-maybe the pressure's off and they relax and play without fear.

Fair enough, bookies dont get it wrong that often, and we are still relying on other results going our way. We have an outside chance though.

I never disagreed with that... where exactly did I say anything of the sort?

I would love you to be right but we don't even have 10,000 fans these days do we. How many will Notts County bring, 1,500? Is it all ticket for them? Give them the new road?

The Play Off Push.

Biggest League game for ages, I'm really glad we'll be wearing a nondescript training kit for this one...

The Play Off Push.

It's quite amusing really. All three of us in the play off chasing pack all think we're going to give it our all but none of us think we'll actually do it at the end of the day. Great thing is, one of us will!

The Play Off Push.

HUGE HUGE game on Saturday, only a win is good enough. Lets hope we get a decent crowd and back the lads vocally! Don't want to be hearing the Notts County fans outsinging us on such a big game at our place.

The Play Off Push.

Just wanted to highlight the fantastic job done by the back 5 over the last 6 games.
Only 2 goals conceded (both from dodgy penalties awarded against us)

Keep up the great work boys!!

YOU REDSSSSSS!!!!!

The Play Off Push.

Did you know:
6 of the last 7 times we have played Notts County it has finished 1-1
7 out of the last 7 have been draws
The last 5 times we have played Notts County it has finished 1-1.

5-0 Brentford anyone? lol:sorted::fishing::owusu:
