If only the following had happened from the arch communicator (and now it should be clear that all this was pure self indulgent rhetoric)...having decided to resign but not allowed access to the official site...but still with the honourable thoughts in his head of letting the fans know first...

Our former manager could have arranged a press conference or press statement that addressed the fans first and foremost...something like

"To the fans of BFC,

I am directing this to you in this instance and apologise for the communication coming via a news network but I am talking to you first and foremost. I have resigned as manager...yada yada yada"

Now if something like the above had happened...no problem...instead we have a ticker bar and an indirect comment from the person himself...no class

This would have been a good way for MA to keep up his part of the deal with us the supporters, i think we have kept up our part of the deal since he arrived!

I wonder if the Mersey is cold at this time of year?

Assuming of course he has a) tendered his resignation, b) had an in depth discussion with the board re compensation c) discussed with his solicitors d) confirmed the notice period.

Of course, I bet if YOU went to a job interview and were offered a new job you would put an advert in the local press announcing it before sorting the details out with your current employer:rolleyes:

MA knew this would be messy and needs to sort the details out before he does a press release. I am sure if he decided to hold a press conference and the bees board say "he is still in contract" you wouls call him a **** for announcing it first.

If you are looking for a cuilprit here, go see noades for bankrupting us and making us a selling club or the gobsh1te who leaked this!

All his sayings of walk the walk, if your going to swim it then swim it, if you fall off your bike get back on it etc.......we, the supporters, gave MA all he asked for, especially at the away games where our support for him and the team was second to none, why hasn't he got off his own arse....knocked on the doors of sky and said 'I'd like to make a statement to the supporters of BrentfordFC'.......will he hell......he's in it for himself......he kept us up but failed in his target to get promotion.....i won't clap him at Griffin Park, he's now history and done the dirty in resigning and walking straight into another job.....let the next page in our history of Brentford FC begin.....Brentford will be around for years, will MA.....?

If I say something I do it...so yes if I had said I would inform people first then that is what I would do. Its a trust thing in this respect, bit like hearing from a bloke down the street that your missus is pregnant, he had entered into an agreement with us...one which he had said he would.

I class myself as being honest and honourable, so YES I would take recourse to inform people in the correct and timely way, not just blurting it out without respect.

There is nothing wrong with trying to be decent and have value...but you have to live with what you say.

You got it in one there, Edmundo. Interesting that Tranmere's late move came only after a sudden hyping on Teletext, Sky TV and the press.

I understand Tranmere's playing budget is even less than hours, so their wages offer must have been the clincher for MA.

I don't begrudge him his move. In this commercial world - more so in football - if you get a better offer, you invariably take it if you want to get on. There's no such thing as loyalty in the game today...

I shall watch his time in Birkenhead with great interest. I once spent two years working in Manchester and felt as though I'd been sent to Siberia! For very much Southern-based and orientated MA, it will be much the same.

One thing we have got right. The board are insisting he has 12 months of his contract to serve. In other words, compensation.

When I think of the pay-outs to Hargreaves, King, MacGlashan, etc, it will be nice to have a few bob coming in!

With Jason Macateer on a reported £6k a week I doubt that. In fact Little got the sack, because he was reluctant to spend the budget money on offer and the board felt that had he just spent a little more they would have got promoted. :fishing:

It is also very close to Wirrall a very pleasant part of the country. With houses bigger but half the price to somewhere like Gerrard Cross for example. :sorted:

I just cannot believe there has been no official word just yet. there are numerous newspaper articles..the media have certainly got there hand in the story, yet Martin is too scared to come out and say anything.

I guess he's taken legal advice Claire, which will have been to say nothing. Mind you, it hasn't stopped him telling Sky Sports, has it?

You can't blame him really, he's no different from the majority of other people....he still has to put food on the table at the end of the day.

I can't understand why he wants to up roots to Tranmere though. It just goes to show that contracts are not worth the paper they are written on unfortunately.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Martin Allen, for the way he has conducted himself throughout his time here, he has been quality from day one, even if he fell short of the final hurdle.

Our loss will most definately be another clubs gain!!!

i still think MA leaving isnt directly to do with playing budget..

i think the playing budget helped him make his descion but i have a feeling that something has happened behind the scenes ( maybe a bust up ) and MA just turned round and said **** OFF

Ok, but please dont tell anyone.

MA had a massive bust up with the BFC Board over their refusal to buy any more gloves for Nelson. By all accounts, some gobby little kid has been 'taking' them and flogging them on ebay:wave:

NOW HAVE YOU MADE THAT DONATION TO EITHER BU OR CHARITY YET:nono:
