I think we will stay up and I hope that Thomas who has , and continues , to do a great job stays for several more years. Of course I don’t agree with some of his decisions it wouldn’t be football if I did but I truly hope he doesn’t read some of the crap written here by some who claim to be supporters of the club.

It would be nice when they interview Thomas, that we could hear the questions. Sounds like the questions were being asked from a bus stop the other side of Hounslow. And why ask him about Abramovitch and Chelsea. Who's interested in them.

We have not been able to hear the questions for weeks. Whoever is editing the interview needs to sort it out asap. At first I thought is was just a blip, but no, you cannot hear the questions and have to guess what they are. Also with Thomas not talking about the team or who might play, they are becoming very boring.

Is he solely responsible for the UK leaving the EU? Or was he once a member of the paparazzi in Paris 25 years ago?!
No but he is proud to working in a country that is leading the World/World beating in (……insert any activity here….)

I will admit that the failure to sign a right back is now looking borderline indefensible.

And just missing out on a Vanderson and there supposedly being no one else just doesn’t cut it as an excuse, IMO.
I have been fully supportive of the clubs strategy but have to say when it became apparent the chances of signing a RB or RWB were minimal we should have maybe gone for a loan to strengthen the depth of the squad till end of season. Just seems our choices have been so severely limited with injuries etc.

Should have kept Henrik. Made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

He’d already signed another deal with the Danish club prior. He was homesick and wanted to go. Also, Henrik would not have survived this league. Great champ player but eaten alive in this league.

Keep hearing it at games. People assume it was simple to keep him. It was all done and dusted before promotion.

It shouldn't be difficult for a PL team to sign a better rb than Dalsgaard.

i was led to believe that the Director of Football found the players and they were approved, or not, by the owner and head coach.

Your led incorrectly then. It doesn’t work like that. We have a recruitment department.

What a difference a week makes. Last week I was getting worried TF was running out of ideas, and this week we were right on it.

I hope that was more down to the tweaks now possible to the system, and not because it was Norwich.

What was our actual formation in the game? BBC listed the formation as 4-5-1 but it didn't always feel like that, and comments in the match thread always suggested others

The dodgy stream I was watching at half time showed the players average position and it was a pretty solid 4-5-1

Thomas Frank

It was 4-3-3. Broadcasters have no idea what formation a manager has select, they usually guess

I think it was down to a lot of things, but mostly being able to put out a full strength side and two of our best players—Toney and Eriksen. Playing a more aggressive formation than the more conservative 532.

To me it looked like a 442, because Toney and Mbeumo were always up top and Canos seemed to be back in midfield. Others say it was 433 with Canos alongside Toney and Mbeumo but I didn't see him alongside them that often. So, somewhere between those two depending on where Canos was playing!

Same as last week (for the first 10 minutes) 4-3-3. If you look at the average positions, Mbeumo was wide right, Toney central and just behind him and Canós narrower on the left, I guess reflecting that he drifted inside more. Eriksen, Janelt and Nørgaard all very central.

Anyone doubting this man now?

Thought he took too long to make the change and bring Jensen on. Game was crying out for another player to put their foot on the ball. We don’t always need two hard working runners. Trust the ball and ability of our players.

Ps I love TF never doubted him. Got it right in the end today.

Thomas Frank

TF doesn’t get credit for keeping an even perspective throughout the season. As fans we may not agree with his post match summations when we lose. But he knows what he’s doing. With this team, and these players, in this position, he’s exactly what we need

Thomas Frank

Never doubted him…..it’s an intense marathon and I don’t know how these top bosses do it?! He will deserve his break. As will his coaches and helpers.

Thomas Frank

So pleased for him. Let’s keep rising up the table and collect more money for staying in this league. A good £3/4m more to be won.

Yes this - we need to look up whilst still looking down. A couple more wins is essential as it will bring in more income that may mean the difference of getting a player in and offering decent wages.

Thomas Frank

TF deserves huge credit especially in a season when we have not had a natural RWB or RB and eventually conceded we needed to change formation.

Thomas Frank

I’m so happy for him .. can you imagine the pressure on his shoulders to keep us in the PL .. he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but he is the greatest manager in our history like it or not
Why isn't he everyone's cup of tea? How can he not be? I can see why other clubs may not like him but Brentford fans?

Was a VERY brave call to replace CN with MJ at 0-0.
Risked a point to get 3.
Can you imagine how the usual suspects (including MANY on here) would have reacted had we not got the result.
Hat’s off to you TF, you deserve a VERY large glass of Red tonight.

Why?

The sub to make was correct, I thought it would be Janelt, myself, but CN got pulled. Maybe to do with his stats over the immense 80 minutes he played and the chance of him pulling up injured, as he came off v Norwich too.

Players are managed and match stats are involved in the subs being made.

Correct decision and Jensen’s 15 mins was crucial to 3 points.

So you think MJ for CN (who most on here thought was MoM), was a 'straightforward' call, bearing in mind the abuse Jensen has been getting, and the meltdown that would have happened had we lost? (Or even if it had stayed 0-0......)
TF made that specific call. It worked. He deserves credit.

Spot on. Even my good lady looked at me with a concerned look but too be fair I think that is mainly because she fancies Norgaard.

It was a brave call and it worked.

At the time I genuinely thought that was one of the most baffling substitutions I'd ever known.

Taking off our strongest, in terms of providing a shield to stop them scoring, for our weakest, in a must not lose match.

I had to tell myself Im sure he knows what he's doing.

I would say the specific call was made because of the men upstairs and the stats, probably, showing CN was close to being knackered and injuring himself if he stayed on. CN spoke to TF a number of minutes before he was subbed…….

We did something very similar in the Championship (v Blackburn I think....??....) taking Rico off for Thompson. 2-0 up, drew 2-2. TF got slaughtered on here.
Would've been the same yesterday.
That's why I still say it was a brave call, and he deserves credit.

I doubt Thomas picks players based on fans' perceptions! There were many discussion taking place, including with Nørgaard and Jansson, before the change.

The game was crying out for someone who would pass forward, particularly to get the ball behind Burnley's defence for our front three. Burnley did a good job controlling Eriksen in the second half until we started moving the ball quickly in behind. Jensen, Mbeumo and Ajer on our right and Eriksen, Wissa and Henry on our left completely changed the dynamic.

Managers/coaches often talk about players being brave. Well TF certainly showed what brave looks like with that decision. We have to remember that these big calls do not always pay off but you have to give him respect for trying.

Thomas Frank

The main reason we didn't change earlier was our lack of RB
And even though the option of switching Ajer there was always possible because he’d played there for Celtic it didn’t make sense when Ajer himself was just returning from injury to bring him back and straight into a different position.
