I didnt realise they both carried a charge thought it was just the credit card. would be interested to hear the answer though

Perhaps it's because it's easier to reclaim the money if your not satisfied with the product purchased:) and people have been seeking refunds for some home games this season

well no probs in mr loring time and winnie what a pair untouchable for detail . This new bloke got a lot to learn???? first the 1 oclock kick off and now no staff to man the phone Dont suppose mr devlin missed his cup of tea at eleven and lunch at one, well poor organising once again ???? one phone call could of been another millionaire wanting to invest in our club. ps maybee the phone staff where part of this new movemt called the monday club which is sweeping the countryside ???

The missus has just said that in her industry credit card companies charge a percentage in commission of the amount of the transaction (Amex being at the high end, Mastercard/Visa being cheaper but still take a %) debit cards "banks" do not take a percentage and usually just take a "token" amount of a few pence via the card terminals for the transaction, rather than being based on the amount of sale, so works out a lot cheaper.

On a different note any idea why it cost £2 more to stand then sit on Sat?

My understanding was always that a debit card is a fixed transaction fee regardless of the total transaction, whereas credit card fees are a percentage of the cost.

Hence most business write off the debit card fee, but try the claim back credit card fees by charging a fixed amount which may be making a profit on small purchases but it plugs the gap for any potential loss made on large purchases.

Of course this could be total b***ocks. :shrug:

I think this thread should have a more objective title. Leaving aside questions about whether matches should be all-ticket, ticket preferred or whatever, and things like staffing and opening hours which aren't decided by the people who work there - I've never had anything but efficient and friendly service from the ticket office. Sensible advice was given today about which turnstiles to use, being sure to turn up a bit early given the likely size of the crowd etc.

Of course it would be great to be able to turn up a few minutes before kickoff, not have to queue to pick up tickets or get through the turnstiles, and stroll to the seat of one's choice. (I think that's what's called 'having a season ticket'.) But as a pay on the day, or buy in advance when necessary, customer, I've never felt the need to go ''Aaagh".

Called them at 11.32, took them 5 rings to answer and then some 2 minutes to sort out the 3 extra tickets I need for tomorrow.

Paid with a VISA Debit Card - They DID NOT charge ANY fee for payment by debit card.

They refuse to deliver the ticket envelope to The Griffin for 1.30pm - Apparently I have to collect them from the new ticket office. Obviously they have no idea about customer service and how inconveniant that is going to be.

Sort it out abee.

Well done to all concerned... rang ....dealt with in about 2 minutes...3 tickets booked...no debit card charge (as mentioned previously).....but will my tickets be waiting for me ha ha...Its Brentford Innit!

I will 100% guarantee that Aussie Girl will have your tickets ready and waiting for you - They will even be filed in alpabetical order so that they are easy to find when you call to collect.

Note : Delivery service to a local pub would be far more customer orientated and conveniant.

Aussie Girl is a Trandy import from the time he spent there a year or so back. - On that basis she is allowed.

She is also double top notch in the ticket office so we can make allowances for her.

We could get her an flat on The Green Dragon Estate - I am sure Trandy would love that :)

Good post Paul it actually made me laugh lol

Imagine leaving the Griffin at 1.30 and finding a couple of thousand doing likewise now that would be inconvenient, especially if you needed a leak before reaching the front.

Hope you never left the Griffin at 1.30 for the last home game. :sorted:

One would never leave The Griffin at 1.30pm - Tickets are required no later than 1.30pm so that the recipiant will be not so drunk so as to have no idea what he did with the tickets if delivered later than 1.30pm - leaving The Griffin at 2.55pm is mandatory :)

Just had such a great service from Katie at the ticket office! Coming down from Edinburgh for my first home game since I moved up here 5 years ago, and my two tickets had gone missing in the post. Dealt with so efficiently by her. So impressed!

Very busy ticket office today, however I received excellent service again from Katie, who dealt with my request for certain seats for the Sheff Weds game quickly and efficiently ... Thanks Katie! :sorted:

Called at 11.19 today - Aussie Girl did not answer the phone until it had rung 3 times and then she took a full 2 minutes to complete my order. :(

I actually am starting to miss the Winnie service of really fighting hard to get tickets... The good old days of having to wait for ten minutes whilst you were interogated as to why you would possibly want to attend, and whilst there was a conflab around the office as to whether I could actually buy something...

They were out on the pitch in the 10,000 crowd day against Peterboro' at the time - Have a great pic of Harry with my first hold still with my earphones in though!

There was no room at the Inn. The place was wall to wall celebrities; Neil Armstrong, Moira Stuart, Lennie Henry and Clarie Grogan to name but a few!

So if your disagree with the status quo you should recieve a GPG banning order not much point in having a forum to debate all things Brentford then is there!!

There are always going to be instances when the service of an organisation is going to be below what a customer expects. It is better that the customer complains no matter how petty it may seem rather than going elsewhere. No organisation is perfect and there is always room for improvement no matter how small
