Not sure where to post this, but here goes.
The club has introduced some form of yellow card, 3 strikes and you’re out, etc.. system for next season., whereby the punishment is that they take away your season ticket, or similar, if you don’t use it for the requisite number of times.
I should probably go back and reread their missive, but that’s the general jist of it.
So I’m told to put my ticket if I’m unavailable to watch, on holiday, sick, whatever, on the ticket exchange, whereby I get a proportionate refund upon the sale of it.
The reason for this is that the club wants every seat filled to maximise support.
That in principle is a good thought.
However, the big question is if I am offering up my seat for someone else, then what is the club really doing to maximise the sale of that seat.
It’s all very well the club saying they’ll effectively punish me if I don’t go to a match, and don’t put the seat on the exchange.
But the truth is that whenever I’ve put my seat on the exchange over the last 2 seasons, probably 3 or 4 times overall, it has never been sold!!!!
Then I look at comments on here and people offering seats to games they cannot go to, and it seems that there are always seats available that are not taken up.
So, does the ticket exchange actually work?
Do Bees supporters, non-season ticket holders, even know of its existence and how to use it?
Does my unsold seat somehow connect to the ticket office for attendance?
Is it advertised anywhere? etc…etc…
One of the great mysteries of life is how really effective the ticket exchange system is.
It‘s all very well the club introducing a punishment system for not attending matches, but if you give the club your seat for resale, and they repeatedly fail to do it, surely the club are then to blame for any empty seats.
Then the ticket system, and those in charge of it, need to be given red cards ? and sent off somewhere else!
