Todays crowd

If todays crowd was only 7600 as announced , could somebody tell me where on earth another 5000 were supposed to fit in the ground.

And why is it necessary for nearly a quarter of the New Road to be "out of bounds" when half the Ealing Rd terrace is as well. I've heard of segregation but when people are scrambling around to find seats that is ridiculous.

I suppose it is down to Police instructions but I do wish some of these jobsworths would engage brain before making decisions.

In the brook Rd most of us thought it looked like about 6,500. There was plenty of room in there.

In a crowd of 7600, why do they need to open the other half of Ealing Rd and New Rd? They're closed because reducing the capacity when its not needed reduces stewarding costs.

D + E blocks both sold out today, I was sending people round to New Rd at 5 to 3! Something I noticed today working the E block gate was that the club distributes dozens of free tickets to local primary schools and youth football teams - I must have let 60 kids through for free

Having been turned away Brook rd was officially sold out, meaning 2300 in there alone

u sure?! i sat in D block and there was quite a few spare seats around, some unreserved as well

I'll be pedantic, the capacity for Brook Road is about 1350 standing and just under 650 seats.

The reason why the areas in New Road are sealed off is becuase Hounslow Council's safety officer have forced the club to do this.

He only relented for the Peterborough game after intervention from the Police who were satisfied with Brentford's arrangements for that game.

B block was closed as normal today so that is 400 seats, Blackpool had no more than 150 in the seats leaving another 500 empty and room for 1500 more on the terrace.

I would say that the New Road had about 2000 empty seats if you include the sealed off areas.

I'm all for safety in grounds but some of these restrictions seem to be going too far. Why does the Council Safety officer insist we seal off part of the New road and why can't we use at least part of Block B in Braemar if we need to. Could understand it if we were playing Millwall but not the sort of away crowds we are meeting now.

That's exactly my point Stanley.

Mark, you say HounSLOW Council's safety officer has made the decree that 1500 seats in New Rd be cordoned off. Well if that is the case how were the club able to open them for the Peterborough free game. No logic there.

What we seem to be seeing developing is a situation where we cannot get much more than 8000 home supporters in the ground. I personally find that a bit worrying and totally unnecessary.

By all means cordon off the very last few seats in New Rd but 1500 is totally over the top.

Will be interesting to see exactly what capacity is achieved for the QPR game. I suppose for that game we will give over the whole Ealing Rd terrace meaning that the blue tarpaulin in New Rd will remain where it is. That is 1500 bees fans that will not get in.

Take out the LDV flag on the New Road side and the orange jaffa flag at the open end and there we have it.

7,600 was a good result, 1000? jaffas and the remainder Bees!

Rome wasn't built in day. We had over 11k at Peterborough, we need to keep the ball rolling, but then I thought 6,500 would be a good a turn out. this weekend. Over 7.5k was a very good folow up.

According to the abpve the brook road was sold out, it did look fall from thh Paddock.

The Paddock turnstiles were only letting seson ticket holders through before the kick off and some of our crowd had to go into the New Road becuase they were told that the Breamar stand had sold out.

The away terrace used to hold 5k, the terrace is still the same size, the reduction in capacity is becuase of the exits therefore the the sterile area should make no difference to the capacity

It would be intersting if the club could state where the unused capacity was. It might help with season ticket sales or forward planning, i.e whats the best turnstile to gain admittance through.

none of this is applicable if you turn up earlier to get in, yes you might lose that extra pint down the boozer but you're certain to get in where you want to..

The capacity of the Ealing Road is 2216.

Capacity all depends on who many people you can get out rather than get in.

From where I was standing the away was no way near half full as that bloody flag covered most of it. The Brook Road where I was stood was not exactly packed

Didn't feel any more busy in the Brook Rd than before but they did run out of programmes by 2:50 though.

Cant understand how it was ONLY 7,600. The paddock was sold out at 2.50pm and there really wasnt a seat to be had from the dug out area to Brook Road.

Brook Road looked jammed aswell, but give Blackpool credit, there has got to have been around 800 there.

Good start though Bees, we all wanted 7000 on Saturday and we exceeded it.

Great game, good football, two good goals and excellent opponents.. lets hope the 7000 come back.

I cant see that there were more than about 500 Blackpool, unless 300 hid in that enormous flag, and don't forget they have an active London supporters club.

It would be nice to know the official away following, but what credence can you give the figure after Reading.

We sold every programme in the ground by 2:55pm. That was the first time that has happened since i have worked as a programme seller.
