I do get it, you want at least one other central midfield player, someone of the calibre of Lewis & Lawrence when they were with us. Players who couldn't dislodge players of Talbots & Hargreaves calibre. Personally I think we need someone better than that. Plus, as I have said on other threads our current midfield might be more affective if we didn't defend so deep, which we didn't under MA apart from when we were hanging on to 1-0's inthe 2nd half of games. We should condense the play, allowing our midfield more chance and with less ground to cover, win more 2nd balls. We currently leave the opposition too much space to work in and attack from. If you had a Talbot or Lewis in there, they wouldn't be anymore effective than what we have, simply because their legs wouldn't be able to cover all the open spaces we currently allow the opposition to have. So my argument is that our problem is actually defensive, and if you improve their set up that in turn might help our midfield to improve their games.
