We played well in the first half, and did everything but score. In the second half we did very little, but had a couple of good chances that Hudson and MacDonald should have put away. Osborne and Bean were our best players IMO. Simon Moore looks like a good prospect too.

Typical pre season friendly, we never really got out of third gear and maybe they didn't need to at this stage I guess.

Positives were Moore and KO.

We needed someone to hold the ball up front, Forster/ Charlie / Hudson don't really work as a strike force between them. Missed Cort.

Attendance 450ish

Pretty average game until last ten minutes when we started playing well and Charlie hit the post after a decent build up. First half was pretty even, though Dave played really well, too early to tell but Forster really struggled to make any impact...Nice place and nice weather though...

also Kirk Hudson looks like a good signing and one that can make things happen but too lightweight atm and should have done better with his one on one chance.

All opinions of course, but I thought Forster looked lively and showed some real quality at times which bodes extremely well.

I also fear that we will more often than not be disappointed by Kirk Hudson. Lots of pace and some nice skill on the ball but somewhat lacking in the work-rate department although he did look better when he moved into a central striking role and hit a few decent corners. However, I sincerely hope that any transfer tribunal fee will be little more than minimal.

Overall, I thought it was a decent performance with some good individual displays and Karleigh Osborne in particular did well. Simon Moore looks more and more like a very good 'keeper every time I see him

From the Angels official report

"Bees' midfielder Toumani Diacouraga was the stand-out player on the field in the first period and, after he was replaced at half-time, this allowed the Angels to play a little more adventurously."

Dave was superb in the first half. Should have been a couple up at half time.Second half a bit flat. Was impressed with Hudsons delivery from set pieces. All in all good work out and some positive signs.:sorted:

I know friendlies dont mean a lot..........but surely we should have scored a couple today?

The lack of goals will continue untill we sign a creative midfield player , our goals for last season was pretty poor considering we finished 10th . We will hold our own again this season but won,t be challenging for promotion .:(

I think thats unlikely given we already have Bean, Dave, Kev and Hunt. Although they are wingers, I'd say Hudson, Weston and Wood are all 'creative'.

Surely some kind of record - two friendlies in and our chances have already been written off. Priceless! roflrofl

When we went up in 08/09, our pre-season record at this stage was two losses (to Ipswich and Bromley). No need to panic!

Lets give it a chance, at least till the end of August:rolleyes:

No, No, No, Friendlies have no bearing on League performances at all.

The " must win " game is Carlisle on the 7th August, followed by Cheltenham, Walsall, Swindon, etc, etc, etc.

friendly results mean sh*t all. bristol rovers lost at some non-league team in the week and sheffield wednesday lost 2-1 at grimsby yesterday.

A bit early to say that and you will be accused of writing off a youngster before he has had a chance etc, but i thought the same. He seems to only want to do the things that he likes to do and often seems to check back and give away the responsibility. Just looks a bit lazy.

I hope i am wrong but if i was scouting him he hasnt done enough in the games I have seen but surely AS has seen something else but his track record for RM's is not great. I am sure that when it comes down to it we will realise there is a good reason why other people manage football teams and i work in IT

I was waiting for someone to say that.... hopefully you are taking the pi55.
lol Indeed. In fact, I'm taking the pi55 out of those who say 'Carlisle' is a must win game :sorted:.

Well what else is it going to be...must draw?

(I think it was Roy Keane who said that)

It's a 'must tighten the draw strings on our shorts and not get done 5-0 again' game :sorted:.

You cant go saying things like that on here :nono:

Also hate to correct you but we finished 9th lol

Why do we need a creative midfielder when we have players like Bean,Hunt & Kev?........Dont understand some people
