When will the coach details be known? It could be the best way to get there from SW London!

coach to spurs ??
Coming up from Somerset via Andover, so driving round London, parking, then trying to get out after, it’s simpler and probably cheaper and less stressful to park up around Kew Bridge!

Richmond, then Victoria line from Vauxhall to Seven Sisters. A brisk walk up Tottenham High Road thereafter.

From football grounds guide:

"However visiting fans are being encouraged instead to use Northumberland Park Station, which is over beyond the side of the ground that the away fans are housed. It is only a ten minute walk away. On exiting the station cross the road and proceed along Park Lane. On reaching the stadium turn right and the entrance to the away supporters turnstiles is far down on the left. Northumberland Park is served by trains from Stratford."

Why do we want to go to Statford after the game
We played West Ham already

Fine for me but not the other 98% travelling. For frequency of trains I’d rather walk to seven sisters and make my way home from there.

....first time I went to White Hart lane was circa 1986.....walked out of tube station at seven sisters and it was total carnage......saying that....inside the ground was worse.....mind you it was Glasgow Rangers in town for a pre season 'friendly' for.....Gary Stevens(I think)..... testimonial......no idea where new ground is in relation to WHL....but I guess Seven Sisters is still the place to get off....although Tottenham Hale in 2021 may be the better option......really hope I get a ticket for this......with no repeat of 'scenes' from all those years ago.....those days are in the past.

For me it is Thameslink to Finsbury Park.
One stop to Seven Sisters and either 149 or 259 bus or Overground to White Hart Lane which will be busy.
Legs ain't what they used to be Rebus.
Getting away will be a mission.
Tickets permitted of course.

Is this a whoosh? The stadium is in the same place just at a slightly different angle now.

I also remember it being a fair old walk from the station and I remember a cup game in the mid 90s(?) where it took a load of us ages to get in the ground and we missed kick off.

Managed to get £13 parking on Just Park, but other parking prices on there are taking the p!ss.
Google advertises a school car park but it’s still £20+ depending on the size of your car ?

Just checked that route... a 1.6 mile walk from the station, so about 50 mins rail and 35 mins walk.

....yeah....fair old walk from Seven Sisters I seem to recall....but no whoosh....I honestly had no idea the new WHL was on the site of the old WHL....all I know is I went in home end with a few old Rangers pals..by mistake....and had to get a discreet escort by OB through a caged no man's land separating home and away in corner of ground.....or we would have been killed....30 odd years ago....madness in those days....it was absolute bedlam in ground....I believe the stand above the open terrace in away end was dismantled that day....and most of it ended in home end....ahhhh memories of the way things were....thank gawd that in 2021 football has been gentrified.

I've been twice to their new ground for the NFL and walked from Tottenham Hale. It's about a 20-25 minute walk, through an absolute dump :ROFLMAO:

Tottenham (A)

You can jump on a train at Seven Sisters to WHL, crowds permitting.
I can see that, just responding to Rebus, actually the walk is fine for us. None of those timings account for waits and delays, though, especially leaving the game. Our issue is the drive back to Martock, Somerset, which is 2½h at the very best of times from Brentford on top of that journey, so the coach is the least stress in our opinion, if our overall travel time is going to be 4-5 hours each way.

Yes, Ilit’s not an ideal walk but trains are every other minute from Seven Sisters so you’re guaranteed to get away. All the other train stations around the stadium are mobbed after the game.

Tottenham (A)

Is it £25 to get a coach to Tottenham?

It would be cheaper to get a black cab if there was more than a couple of you!

But if you walk all the way back to Seven Sisters, by the time you get there, Victoria Line trains will already be bunged with people who got on quicker at Tottenham Hale.

Tottenham (A)

Last time I went to Spurs it was tube to Manor House & one of the special buses lined up outside.

Mind you that was in the 60’s so things may have changed?

The trains are every two minutes. I’ve done this journey before mate!

Tottenham (A)

4 minute walk (to WHL Overground)!
True. But the Overground station could hardly cope with the crowds when the stadium held 36k(?). Now it's 62k, but it's the same little slow trains, chuntering along the same old minor suburban line, with the same old signalling i.e. slow and bunged.

I'm told that if you're lucky enough to time it right on the way to the ground, it might work out ok, since the crowd's arrival at the stadium will be staggered.

But after the game, when all 62k are leaving the ground at the same time? Forget it.

Always find these threads type of threads with the petty squabbles about the best route, how many minutes it takes to walk, frequency of trains, quality of the station etc etc strangely cathartic.

Tottenham (A)

That will be my route in from Liverpool St.
If Liverpool St is convenient, then that's a good idea to get there, since that's where the trains start - certainly much better than transferring onto the Overground from eg the Victoria Line at Seven Sisters.
But from your NFL experience, you'll presumably know that coming back that way is a nightmare, unless you give it an hour(?) for the crowds to get away from WHL Overground.

Yep, and then there's Ealing Bee who makes the same point twice in four posts.

Yeah, I'm planning to get the Overground from Cheshunt to WHL.

Hi @BlueJayBee -I am considering that route, my concerns are whether there is much car parking available at Cheshunt station and also "congestion" at the station afterwards to get back to Cheshunt - I would expect more to be going the opposite direction and think trains are very 10-15 minutes?

I must admit, I've not researched any of the points you raised. I don't live anywhere near Cheshunt, but I did use that station on a few occasions, many years ago, when I worked in the City. I'm hoping you're right about fewer people going in that direction, after the game.

180 spaces, apparently. There are a couple of other car parks nearby, by the looks of it, just off Windmill Lane.

...me too! Except you can go direct to Northumberland Park station direct. Apparently good for the away end. White Hart Lane station on another line (from Enfield Town). Last time used Cheshunt Station, parked for free in River Lea car park. Don't know whether it's still free to park there (was a few years ago). Having said that, think the Station car park may not bee too expensive for an evening.

Travelling from South
Victoria onto Victoria line to Tottenham Hale and train to Northumberland Park is one route.

Thameslink to Finsbury Park to Tottenham Hale and onto Northumberland Park is another.

On the way back.
Northumberland Park to Stratford.
Jubilee to London Bridge.
Thameslink to Horsham.

£19.50 with railcard with Junior in tow

How far is the walk to Seven Sisters mate? I can’t remember where we all went in 1992 - was it there?

By far the safest and easiest journey to rejoin the wider London network. Yes it gets busy post game but they're very organised and trains tend to be frequent. If you can staying inside the stadium for an hour or so after the game helps a lot, crowds at the station are significantly decreased by then.
