Tottenham takeaways ?

Recording the first episode of this season’s Ealing Road Podcast tomorrow evening - drop any talking points / questions you’d like us to discuss below! ?️??

Tottenham takeaways ?

Do we need to strengthen before the window shuts.

Tottenham takeaways ?

I like Schade, I like Damsgaard and I like KLP. How long though until they are "settled" and we see the best of them? ?

Tottenham takeaways ?

Did anyone see Philip Schofield @ the Weir Bar in Brentford yesterday?

I think KLP is ready to go now judging by pre season and I think will start if/when we play 433.

Schade is still a kid and will need more time and patience.

Damsgaard is the one that needs to turn the flashes of brilliance into something more consistent.

Tottenham takeaways ?

As a first game without Raya and Toney we did pretty well, especially first half.

Second half Spurs really turned up the pressure and we had trouble adapting but still kept a clean sheet.

Augured well for the new season.

Tottenham takeaways ?

Why did our subs add so little energy when coming on. Previously the subs have added some energy and changed the outcome of some games but not yesterday.

it was disappointing Damsgaard didn't bury his chance into the back of the net. It would have changed the whole complexion of the game. It may have been a lack of composure looking for his first goal or lack of quality.

good point, i looked at the subs both teams had to offer and felt we had the stronger offensive players but they made very little impact

How do we stop pressure mounting when in the low block?

It was discussed last season, but without Ivan we can struggle to get out and relieve pressure, with the ball just coming at us phase after phase.

It was interesting that TF talked about 'proving something to the doubters' when discussing the goals post match. It seems he is a little niggled. Allied to this si the immediate extensive report on the BCD game v Brighton this afternoon. Lots of promotion of Schade's hat-trick. Not sure the same coverage would be there if we had lost or it finished 0-0. Selling the idea seems to be the order of the day. What do others think?

Tottenham takeaways ?

I thought Shandon made a good impact. Developing into more a creative 6 than an attacking 8
I thought Shandon did okay but didn't seem to impact the game much. I just thought they all had little impact and we seemed to sit deeper and deeper as the match went on.
Still a point is not too bad to start the season.

Tottenham takeaways ?

Which Spurs players could add to our side? I can only think of three: Son, Maddison and Bissouma

We need our best players like MJ to be fit to pass out, and give ourselves a breather that way. I think we have to accept we will concede a lot more and win many fewer games without Toney's hold up play - a top, top team (ie. not Tottenham) would have punished us with the amount of possession we allowed. KLP could have a big role to play running channels this season.

Jensen being on the pitch doesn't matter if both Wissa & Mbuemo are coming deep, alongside the fact neither of them are great in the air or with their backs to goal (IMHO).

Agreed on Wissa and Bryan, but I still think we need MJ there to help keep the ball amongst the defence and CMs. Otherwise we lose it both going long and playing short

Bryan's hold up play vs Spurs was excellent I thought - didn't think he had it in him

dovetailed really nicely with henry and the runners from midfield, like for the penalty. will always struggle in the air though, i miss Toney's flick ons!
