As Virgin are carrying out their extended engineering works,you can't do this from Euston, but if you don't mind an early start,it can be done via Reading (to Liverpool then Rock Ferry) for about £20 (Reading -Liverpool), plus £1.50 from Liverpool to Rock Ferry. YP discounts available. Best to book ASAP though.

Yes Virgin do run it. Nearest station is Rock Ferry on the Liverpool Metro-runs straight from Liverpool Lime Street.

We got caught in a MASSIVE jam on the M1 last time going to this game. Had an Everton mate with us and due to being late we dropped him at a mini cab to get to Goodison for the Charlton game while we hot footed it to Prenton. Both ended up getting to the grounds at half time and both lost :(

However cos all the gates were shut we were let in for half price and brought out through the players tunnel which was a nice novelty :D

You can still go to Liverpool from Euston just have to get on a bus between Hemel and MK - its not too bad, adds about 30 minutes to the journey apparantly.

not sure mate still toying with idea of driving up and staying sat night.if not crash round dangerous's and get 0738 from reading.we'll sort it out on sat.how was new york:)

my mum did the journey from hemel,it took 55 mins:(

the adelphi is doing a special rate,works out at 40 quid each.i very much fancy this option.bee all????i will drive and we'll get there by 11

well its on.myself,zidane,woods and beefcake no coat are booked into adelphi for sat night.163 for all 4 saving 30 each on normal night.will be leaving twickers at 7(yes 7 david)am so we can be in the paradise that is liverpool for opening.

Tickets still available on the 7-38 £30 rtn :( to Liverpool from Reading on their 7 days b4 policy. That's £10 dearer than the smart people got theirs for :mad: :mad:

Left it till today to book. They are now £40 :( :eek:

Dunno about peasants mate, I read in the paper yesterday that hundreds of students at some Liverpool Uni are being put up at the Adelphi cos their halls of residence aren't ready for the new term, looks like the alcopop army'll be room-sharing with a bunch of crusty lentil-munchers!!!:lol

Car parking at tranmerre is ok its a bit like the bees loads of street parking. but there are 2 pubs on the football website www.footballgroundguide.co.uk that it says you can park and be ok as an away fan.

train takes about 15 mins from lime street to rock ferry then 20 min walk... the train fair is £1.50 from liverpool to rock ferry

Well thanks to Virgin trains we didn't get to the ground until 3.20. Not bad it only took 7 hours from Letchworth!!!

As much as I hate to defend Virgin trains I used Virgin and got there 15 minutes early at 10.50 - the only complaint I have is that I had to wait ten minutes for the pub to open ;)
