What is Travel Together?

Travel Together is the Brentford supporters' travel fund, designed to provide financial support to help establish independent fan groups for away travel.

While the club already runs official coach services from the Gtech, we understand that many fans would prefer to travel directly from their local areas.

We also know that travelling with like-minded fans, whether it’s families or fellow locals, makes the journey even more enjoyable.

This initiative aims to:

  • Help fans form local groups to arrange independent coach or minibus travel
  • Offer financial grants to support the setup and coordination of these groups
  • Provide guidance and promotional support to connect fans in your area
  • Provide fans with transport and logistical advice for matchday

Why Travel Together?*

Make away days easier and more affordable - travelling in a group means fewer logistical hassles, shared costs and a more affordable way to support the team on the road.

Connect with fellow fans - away matches are a highlight of being a Bees fan. By travelling together, you’ll meet like-minded fans in your area.

Travel sustainably - we’re committed to reducing our carbon footprint. This scheme encourages group travel options like coaches and minibuses, helping us all do our part for the environment.

How to get involved

  • Are you interested in joining a local travel group in your area?
  • Do you want to help organise and coordinate a fan group near you?
  • Do you know others, or want to know others, who live near you who’d be interested too?
If so, we want to hear from you!

Whether you’d like to lead a local group or simply join one, this is your chance to play a part in creating a stronger, more connected Bees community.

Simply complete our Travel Together form by Sunday 2 March to register your interest. Once we’ve gathered responses, we’ll help kick-start groups in areas where there’s enough demand.

After the deadline, we’ll review responses to identify areas with the most interest, reach out to interested fans with further details and ultimately support local groups with grants, advice, and promotion to get started.

…………is Harry Potter involved…???????……….

Travel Together

It is; great initiative; one model to perhaps consider is the West Country Minibus; been operating since May 2014.
?
This is "just" an initiative for away games it would seem though.

Wonder if there are any plans for something similar for home games??

Travel Together

Filled in a survey earlier this week after the West Ham game and there was a question about which one thing would encourage you to travel to more away games.

I wrote something about more local pickup points for shared transport. Glad to see the club have taken the idea on board ?.

Travel Together

Our work always made us travel separately (colleagues that is) incase we ever crashed I guessed.

Can you drink on these mini buses how many piss stops per 100 miles?

Just a thought...it's not quite a "football special" but train operators do offer private train carriages...

For working age adults a ticket for just over £30 return from London would be pretty appealing if the club could book one (or more) of these.

Maybe tell them there will be a Brentford staff member on board to ensure no stupid behaviour and they'll ban anyone being excessively loud/racist etc (to reduce train company/police just flatly saying no).

That way people who enjoy a beer on the way to/from a game (and dislike 7 hours on a coach) can relax and prepare/unwind properly to/from a game.

Travel Together

Excellent idea but I cannot help as I already bring five/six other members of my family!

I remember the good old days when lifelong friendships were formed in cars on our way to far flung destinations like Hartlepool, Darlington, Carlisle, Doncaster, York, etc etc. As my friend Dave T always says 'it was a good day out spoiled by 90 minutes of football'!

Havent you got a bag ?
One unofficial coach trip (possibly one of Paddy's) and no toilet, mate wee'd in a bin liner and then tried to throw it out of a skylight. The back rows were not best pleased with there golden shower.

Did anything ever come of this initiative? Is anyone here benefitting from it?

I provided my details and after an email in March saying my details had been passed to a local organizer I never heard anything further.

Just curious as to whether anyone managed to put together a group.

Not really news; but the West Country Bees are in their 12th Season; always been kindly supported by the Club; harder to organise than it was though due to the Sky Fixture Changes; 8pm ko on working weekday makes it more difficult!

No idea.If i created a group of 4 from my own family would i get some sort of support from the club ?

And i dont mean Cliff Crown waving at me on the M40.

Good question this, I'd been wondering about it having heard nothing further. I think anyone with niche regional travel needs might be better off starting a thread here than relying on that inititiative. On the two or three occasions I or my son have been stuck (broken cars, return train times etc) GPG has always come to the rescue (take a bow Hungerford Bee ...).
