Denny Mundee.
I saw him playing for the reserves once (against Chelsea?) during one of his periods of being overlooked for the first team. He played central midfield and he absolutely ran the show. Good first touch. Time on the ball. Short and long passing. Well timed runs into the box. It was a feckin' masterclass.
Such a talented footballer.![]()
Had a great run of goalscoring for the first team, but then disappeared without trace (or to Brighton). Lacked pace, but found a trick to beat defenders without needing pace - sadly, after playing him once, they were wise to his one trick and he became ineffective

Not quite true.
Scored lots of goals in 1993-94 but by the start of the 94-95 season we had signed Forster and Taylor.
He then developed into a central midfield player and was very effective for much of that campaign, played in all the games towards the end.
Really? I don't remember that at all... Which kind've makes my last post a load of half remembered nonsense but anyway...![]()

yeah denny mundee was quality mate. had toughness and skillness. what a player.![]()

lol Did I ****. I knew he was useless.![]()
Denny was a wonderful one trick pony. When the famous shuffle came off he was unplayable as against bristol Robvers when he scored that famous hat trick.
I also remember a scorching screamer against Crewe as well as his nonchalant penalty taking technique - pity he didn't change it against Hudersfield in the Playoffs after scoring 2 pens against them in the league games !
