I think his point was that he deliberately avoided the camaraderie as he didn’t want to give away anything at all about himself, his game, his mentality. He wanted to portray a steely, winning persona.

Tbh, I think he comes across as a self-centred, materialistic jodrell banker. Probably explains his success!

Augusta should have banned the lot of them to avoid potential clash scenes like this. Unlike the old BDO/PDA darts breakaway, there are still plenty of top drawer players left to watch and also unlike that breakaway, all golfers still want to win majors, no matter how many ££££s they can make.
