Vale fans

I was throughly impressed with the Vale fans yesterday (apart from the few mindless ones who shouted out in the minutes silence). A special mention has to go to a Vale fan called Brian who we met on the way up. Not only did he insist on buying us coffee and food as soon as we met him, he arranged to meet us after the game and paid for 3 of us to go in a cab back to bristol. Cost him close to £100, but he wouldn't take any of our money! Also i stood outside Gate 1 for 10 minutes in my Brentford shirt at the end and didn't get one bit of abuse.

me, my brother and 4 neutrals who came with us ended up in a 100% Port Vale pub before the game and it was great. No hint of trouble, we got them singing Hey Jude, in fact they sang it better than we sang it in the ground...

To continue this rather shockingly nice thread, I too met up with a top Vale bloke before the game in the pub, and he was just a genuinely nice guy and decent football fan.

To me it showed what the LDV was all about - a fan's day out. Because let's be honest, no one was really bothered about winning the thing were they?

Were they?!!

I lost my little puppy and a port vale fan found it for me and in return i gave them a nice bunch of flowers.

Yeah, agree. I personally wouldn't mind feeling the way I did yesterday towards the oppo fans every week. it beats the hell out of Ninian park & the New Den. Fair play to you Vale.

I didnt go to the game but as I stopped to get petrol a man in a yellow football shirt, funny northern accent gave me £90.00.He said to give it to my wife as he owed her for the shag. This has happened before but this was the first time it was a friendly northern person.Lovely arent they ?

To make it even more remarkable,he must of been a very ,very ( probably Vale fan) northerner as my wife charges me £110,or £95 for sloppy seconds

She only charges me £20 for 'first go'. I'd have a word with her if I was you.
£95 to stir my porridge? She's obviously not a Vale fan is she?

spoke to a vale fan in the oz bar who looked like uncle fester
and got poked by a **** with a vale flag who thought i was his mate, even though i was wearing a bees shirt. f*** knows what he was drinking but he probably doesn't realise they've won yet!!

Some people just don't understand your sense of humour do they mate?

BTW the DM's don't belong to me, but if you find a long plank of wood under the bed then that's mine - I had to strap it to me arse to stop myself 'falling' in..........

Youve got to admit that it makes a bloody nice change for all the fans to drink together before a game and not have one hint of animosity between any fans. The Guardian galdly reported there was not one arrest in cardiff at all. I think ourselves and vale should take alot of pride in at least showing how two sets of supporters can at least respect each other (shame about the silence, tossers on both sides)

Big respect to all the vale fans we chatted with in the pubs, they were a decent lot

Travelled back to Leics after the game which meant that we shared the M50/M5 with all the Vale fans. Stopped off at a service station on the M5 only to find it was the one that all the Vale supporters coaches had stopped at!! Outnumbered by 1,000+ to 1 and still wearing the red and white it was a little nervy to say the least, particularly standing in line for the gents. But not a sign of trouble just smiles and good wishes. One bloke offered to put me right on the directions as he was convinced we should have been on the M4 till I explained where we were headed. Nice bunch of lads.

Three of us travelled back up to Gloucestershire by train after the game. Most people in our carriage were Vales fans. You would of thought they lost, it was like a morgue. The only people having a beer and a laugh were us three Bees fans. The highlight being when my brother asked one of the Coppers who were travelling back to Birmingham if he had heard of Harry Roberts!!
