Perfect, sounds just what we need and not just a DM, very much in Norgaard's style he can go box to box as well. We now have a lot of options in midfield so no excuses for not rotating during the busy periods. Wonder whether this will see Zamburek go out on loan? Difficult to see him even getting on the bench at the moment and it's a long way to the next league cup or FA cup game..

As Baptiste isn’t fit, injured again, plus Janelt is a different type of midfield player, this signing is needed as cover for Norgaard.

It's not about giving players minutes, we have to get the best team out every game. This signing will provide further options and cover for injured or suspended players which are both required over this very demanding season. The bar is being raised all the time which may unfortunately require us to let some players leave, or go out on loan. A price we have to pay if we want to continually improve.

Showed more ability than Yearwood though. Baptiste clearly has the ability to be another we develop into a Prem player

I don’t think anyone is arguing that we shouldn’t put out the best team possible- that’s a total straw man. What is true is that no Brentford team will have 11 players playing all at their peak years- some will still be developing, some will be seasoned vets, some might even be a year past their prime. But if you don’t play your best developmental prospects- abs I believe Baptiste to be one- then they don’t develop as fully and their potential is not fulfilled. I am excited for this signing and most of our players can play across our midfield 3 so they are not directly competitive but it is legitimate to wonder whether this closes the margins for patience to get Baptiste fit and get him playing, like we did with Josh DaSilva for example

Janelt can play the 6 and the 8, as Baptiste has been playing. Janelt might be more of a natural 6 and Baptiste more of an 8, but they have both played in both positions.

i'd have thought he'll be involved on Saturday (even if just sat on the bench) - we have six first-team midfielders, but two are out injured (Norgaard and Baptiste). and one of the others (Jensen) is still working his way back.

I took it that by some time he meant more than 2 weeks, however this may have to be pushed forward with the CN injury.
