Wales

Did anyone see how good Wales were tonight?

OK, Israel were poor, but the way Wales moved the ball was top standard and they're half way to topping group B! If they had a striker/hold up player they would be a genuine force!

Gareth Bale continues to impress me too. Some sublime bits of skill, but the main thing was how much he loves playing for his country and how small his ego is. Exciting times for Welsh football.

Incidently, Wales have more A-license coaches per player, which in my opinion is more important than home grown %s in playing squads.

Wales

I've been impressed with Wales recently. The draw out in Belgium in November was a good performance/result and last night was a very good performance. I think you are right, if they had a high class striker that would put them on a different level and they could start troubling some of the bigger European teams (I think on their day they can do that now).

Wales

Their midfield of Allen/Ledley/Ramsey with Bale "in the hole" is very very good, arguably one of the best in Europe. Defence looked well organised and has been tighter than a canine's backside this campaign.

Wales

Israel were very poor but take nothing away from Wales, they were extremely efficient. The only thing they lack is a top class striker, Sam Vokes is probably their best option and he's hardly ever fit.

Would fancy them to finish top 2 as you'd expect them to beat Andorra and Israel at home and Cyprus away.

Wales

Not saying he wasn't any good before he went to Real Madrid but he has learnt much more with top top players there and has improved considerably since his Tottenham days.

Wales

Fantastic close ball control, pace, size/strength, dead ball expert, the model of a complete footballer? Israel didn't know how to handle him yesterday. I wonder what has gone wrong at RM.

Wales

It's all a bit OTT IMO.Like England they are in a very poor group. The truth will emerge in the finals as it will for us.

Wales

Belgium and Israel are decent (on paper at least), better than Switzerland and the rest.

Wales

This is what Wales can do when virtually everybody is fit, which happens about once a decade. Rambo went off injured, so that's cause for concern, but the next qualifier is not until June.

Ultimately against the very top teams in Europe in a knockout vulnerabilities will be found, but at the moment the confidence and style of play is admirable.

Belgium looked the better team against Wales and probably should have won, but they ground out the result that day. The rest of the games the football has been great. Wales actually played some good stuff for the World Cup qualifiers too, but were found out with lack of ruthlessness and defensive problems .
