As I know a lot of you are not to happy with the fat QPR loving Downes I thought you would like to know that his local pub is the Brackenbury Arms on the Goldhawk rd Shepherds Bush where he drinks with his QPR chums.

Found out last night that he was in their on Boxing day after your match,Fulham use this pub on match days(well their all sh*te in that dump) and he was bolloxed in the evening.Apparently said Smith was not bad and Jay Tabb was below average of your players.

Mate who told me reckons he is a big mouthed ****** who seemed to have no warm feelings to your lot(worry if you ask me!)

Also said that him and Vinny hated Dave Beasant when they were at Wimbledon and all he had done in his career was the FA Cup final penalty save and lived of it ever since!

I'm sure you're an honest guy and all, but I'll draw my conclusions based solely on what we are (or aren't, as is) doing on the pitch. If drunken raves were a firing offense, I'd be unemployable! Don't even really mind if he 'likes' us to tell you the truth, all I care about in the end is results. It's that sort of business for managers. If he's incapable of projecting desire to the players then that will come across in the performances (... ).

I will say that if if this story were to be true and he's sitting around gossipping about the team he managers then he's FAR too stupid to manage a league football club.

As a BTW, Beasant may have been/ may be the master of the howler, but he could/can be unbeatable on his day. He was 3rd choice at Italy '90 - don't remember Wally on the England team sheet.

we all know this stuff about Downes is true. i have been told 'allegedly' of loads of incidents of him running the club down in pubs with QPR supporters and the people cant all be lying cos many of them have been brentford supporters offended by it. Why would they make it up? The thing about slagging off Beasant is laughable and sums up Downes as a man.

Beasant has won a Fa cup winners medal and is so professional that he has kept himself in such good fitness that at over 40 years old he is still able to compete at the highest level. Downes on the otherhand has achieved what?

Quite frankly, who gives a f@ck what Downes says? Especially when it's only hearsay (we know how they ended up! ) and tales from my mate down the pub.

Obviously I'd rather have someone who loved the club, but at the end of the day it's results on the pitch that matter, not what he may be saying after a few pints down his local with a few mates.

If we stay up, he has done his job. End of story.
