i didnt like the look of it, i like though the jjb and ive always thought the britainia was very nice.

I can't stand the JJB and the McAlpine clones, the only one of them I like is Huddersfield as that is original and has more character than the other clones with every stand different. Reading is awful, never understood why people love it, takes ages to get out of and was so quiet in the home end. The best grounds I've been to this season have been Tranmere and WBA, nice but traditional. I haven't been to the Britannia but it looks nice from pictures.

The warrington stadium looks a bit souless, however I think if one end was standing and the corners were filled in it could look good at Lionel Road as a starting point. Our saving grace design-wise at LR may be that the site is odd-shaped and we have to be innovative to fit the ground in, so we have a different-looking stadium.

Nice of them to part-name it after one of the Spice Girls :D

Is the McAlpine not Huddersfields ground? ;)

Instead of fans around the pitch, fans in the middle, game going on around them?
Seats facing away from pitch?

City of Manchester Stadium

City of Manchester looks like a really good design and already has atmosphere from what I hear. City fans seem to be a special breed. They kept up massive attendances even when the club was wallowing in the Second Division. And it's not as though there was no alternative in Manchester.

I think it's hard for a new stadium to have much atmosphere. It takes time for that to develop and for a few momentous games to take place and memeories to build up.

That's exactly my point about Manchester City City fans. Thank you.

As for swapping teams, consider this; Sheffield Wednesday are drawing crowds around 20K this season compared to 30K+ in Division One. Several of the "unreal" Sheffield fans now seem to be going to Bramall Lane where Sheffield United attendance is 24K+ compared to 18K previously.

I've no idea how "franchise deals" in the US have supposedly influenced me regarding fan attendance.

Yes, the JJB is a McAlpine clone to a large extent.

Instead of fans around the pitch, fans in the middle, game going on around them?

ha ****ing ha, I meant not some boring bowl like Reading have and maybe make the design nice, it is after all going to be seen by a lot of people from the M4, might attract them to the club. If they can put silver discs on the Bullring (looks nice) and attract people to Brum city centre we can get fans from good design :D

We aren't QPR!!! Though we could charge a premium for seats facing a TV screen showing a decent football match instead of what is on offer at the moment, that way you can be loyal by turning up and paying, and not having to watch the game :D

I don't believe for one moment that Owls have become Blades overnight. Its simply that United are drawing on some of their latent pool of support. Anyway, Wednesdays crowds aren't actually much lower than they were when they were in the Premiership, never mind Division 1. I think you will find that they were one of the few top flight clubs never to really cash in on the crowd boom of the 90's and gates were generally stuck at around 25,000 (though the average may have been slightly larger due to their glamour fixtures of the time)

As for Man City, well yes, theyhave a large and loyal bunch of fans, but what commentators never seem to realise when they drone on about how wonderful X clubs supporters are for turning up in such large numbers when they are bottom of the Prem is that the supporters are bound to turn up because they all bought S/T's in the optimism of pre season.
