Well Done BFC

Its been a very sad week but today the club delivered big time and deserve the credit for that and eneding the week on a high. You could tell they had worked extremely hard to make the day a success and it certainly was. In the past Brentford has become synonymous with feck ups but they bent over backwards to accomadate people today. Fantastic tickets prices, Players walking round the stands giving out sweets, players kicking balls into the crowd and Father Christmas doing his bit as well, all little things but thoughtful and very engaging with the fans. The supporters we very good today and helped the players and encouraged throughout which made for a good atmosphere. A good performance and a great 3 points. Cracking day to be a Brentford fan so thank you very much to Brentford FC and those who worked to make a great day. Same thing next season please but dont host it before any cup games. ;) :fishing: :owusu: Up the Bees!

Well Done BFC

Well done too all concerned..almost as may 'Bees'(and guests) there today as at the Charlton game would have been sub 4000 without the offer...annual event ?...

Well Done BFC

Indeed, maybe fell....somewhat short of the target, but probably got an extra 2,000 in there. The atmosphere was better as a result, may have paid a big part in the win. Well played by the club, maybe money received by gates would have been lowered, but if it contributed towards our victory then it was well worth it, both for the clubs and for the fans. A good day.

Let's hope some of those 2000 enjoyed it enough to come back . Great atmosphere second half and a memorable end to the game so hopefully a positive experience and one they'll want to repeat again and again.

We have an excellent & helpful group of people working at BFC!! Well done all.

Be interested to know if the income from today's gate with the extra 2000(??) would have been similar to the gate had there been no discount. If there wasn't a significant difference in the minus column might be worth doing again this season to hopefully get more in through the gates long term. It was good to see more people in the New Road and the Ealing Rd. Breamar didn't seem any busier than normal. Maybe someone from the club can let us know.

The club deserve praise for the initiative... shame they can't determine the play on the field.

Can't help but think that the entertainment and performance was probably only woth a fiver however...

You miserable old git, it was a decent game with a thrilling final 10 minutes. By your logic we should be getting a salary from the club for sitting through 40 odd years of
dross played in the bottom or Div 3 football !

Bloody hell Greenholme are you auditioning for Scrooge;) Personally thought £11 plus a free match day programme for myself and my seven year old son was pretty good value. Barcelona vs Real Madrid it wasn't but three welcome points and an excellent initiative from the club and a much better atmosphere inside GP.

Unfortunately both of my targets for a free seat re my s/t were both busy today. However, I nearly didn't make it today because of my man flu, exacerbated by 2 visits to gp and Underhill both of which I shouldn't have gone to. However, did go and pleased I went, not because of the performance, although the 2nd half was decent, but because when we did eventually get playing half decent footie especially after the first goal, it actually sounded like a football crowd rather than a morgue. Lets hope some of the newcomers/lapsed fans come back again before too long.

I'd venture to suggest the pay on the gate brigade, say just under 4k contributed almost as much as 2k would have done at full price for a normal pre Christmas game against the Monkeyhangers. As such, it seems to be a good initiative to repeat before the end of the season, especially if the away club concerned doesn't normally bring many fans, and also especially if we're still in with a good shout of going fora play off spot.

Well done BFC.

Couldn't be there myself, but itsounds like it all went well.

As I said if you read correctly....

Oh I did read your post correctly Greenholme, I didn't suggest otherwise. My tounge-in-cheek Scrooge comments were more aimed at your claims that the entertainment and performance were only worth a fiver;)

Trust and hope the youngster is well.
The initiative seems fine to me, as 6.5K for the last home game before Christmas must be a good result, especially as the oppo came from hundreds of miles away.:sorted:

Hope your child is ok?!

Well done BFC. It was a good idea, along with the vouchers at Rochdale, hope it's done again for another home game later in the season. Bury in April in return for their £5 admission? No doubt the ST holders will moan  ;)

I am STH and would not object, any initiative that gets more people in the ground on match day is to be applauded, all I ask is that the product that we are delivering on the pitch is better so that many of the cheap ticket brigade will come back of their own free will.

Top reply. If I were an ST holder, I'd say the same, wouldn't be bothered about lower admission charges, but not about the product on the pitch ;)
Even my daughter commented that the 'noise' was greater than it has been for a while at GP.

sounds like a good idea to this season ticket holder, dont mind the value i get from my season ticket diminishing a little bit in return for the greater good of BFC :sorted:
