Actually it is a lower TAPS number than Palace so we must have 3,000 tix
Have not seen the confirmed number yet

I think a visit to the Box Office is called for as I do not want to be sweating on postal deliveries again. Not sure about pre-match beverage although perhaps somewhere in the City then central line to Stratford?

Hackney Wick is a short walk from the ground and has some good bars, albeit a bit "Bohemian" in places

Bit too close for me and out of my comfort zone. I reckon on one of the Spoons in EC2, Liverpool Street perhaps. I like being in the City, worked there for two years after leaving school, great place.

My new manor of Leytonstone is a good shout. A few scoops then two stops back to Stratford. Leyton Technical bear Leyton station is okay as well.

Ah fair enough. Plenty of options round there then, I guess just follow the crowd which will inevitably lead to spoons because the average football fan will look no further than that.. Cheap beer and next to the station!

Yes, we used to drink in Leyton Technical when we played Orient.

Liverpool Street (or Shoreditch) is a good area for drinks.

Upon leaving the ground we all walk through a walkway towards Stratford and eventually meet up with West Ham going in the same direction.
Through a tunnel which is pitch black and noisy.
My Palace workmate went there last weekend.
When Palace equalised they got pelted with coins.
Twice.
Kicked off after the game and stewards are a complete waste of space.
Some Palace did not get their tickets so they had to queue before the game.
They did get sent to the other side of the ground only to be sent back to where they were originally.
The home team has about 20 outlets the away team 1.
They had to queue with the home fans even though their booth had no one waiting.
They managed to get out and back in, but it caused problems with the West Ham queueing up.
Overall it is a nightmare, but they got a result.

Hackney Wick is good before the game, but not after.
The train is packed from Stratford.
I thought about getting off at Bow Road and cutting across or Bromley by Bow and walking up.
Even going Plaistow, but I am told we all go to Stratford wether we want to or not.
We will find out.

Just got this tip from a West Ham supporting friend. Apparently Pudding Mill Lane station on the DLR is very close and not widely used.

That was my plan, if it does happen to be busy than a mile walk to Bow Road Station for the District line to Blackfriars or H&C to Farringdon suits me fine enough. Should also be able to pick up the all important #cans for the journey back to Bedfordshire.

Hope I can get a ticket for this, apart from Canning Town FC they’re technically my local team as I live about 5 mins from the old Boleyn ground and can easily walk to Stratford, + have never been to the new place.

Yep my West Ham season ticket mate suggested that and that station rather than Stratford. I see it is on the North London Line the same as Richmond and Kew Gardens. Is that a viable route rather than the Central Line?

Yes its easy
And not as busy as Central London

Do check that there are no engineering works on that day though

Providing there's no engineering works.. if I was lucky enough to get a ticket I'd loop round from Gunnersbury which would take about 45 minutes to Hackney Wick, a more comfortable train than the central line and I imagine will be much more quieter than Stratford.

Yep that's what he said. Apparently it takes an age getting out of and into Stratford and you are directed away from pubs straight into the ground.

There seems to be engineering work today but it's almost an hour (from Kew Gardens) otherwise. I'll keep an eye on it; it's the simplest route for us if it runs right through.

There's several. Hackney Wick in general is a great place for a few drinks, + there's Randy's Wing Bar not too far which is brilliant, stunning chicken in there.

A couple of times tho' the missus and I have mis-timed a day out up around there when West Ham turn up after a game, some of the pubs on the canal are great but change instantly when they do.

Funnily enough, cos I live over this way (Newham) I always have the same journey questions going the other way when going to GP or now LR.

Done that route in the past, when the shopping centre was new. Ideal in pre-senile/cheapskate times as it avoids Zone 1.

Pudding Mill Lane was the DLR stop for the elevated view and exhibition of the Olympic Park build.
