DLR one stop from Pudding Mill Lane to Bow Church, couple of minute walk to Bow Road tube for the District Line to Gunnersbury is an alternative option, should take about an hour or so all in.

Being in west London, near the District Line, this is the route I’ve used on two previous visits. Except walked from Bow Road to London Stadium and back rather than DLR; but understand not everyone can do that.

Not tried Stratford before due to the reported congestion issues. No waiting or particularly large crowds on the above.

That seems like a solid option as well. Don’t mind walking whatsoever.

It’s just so easy to find and it’s never too busy.

Sure , it’s only good if you want the DLR and can start your journey via that line but it gets you away from the area v quickly

You’re saying you can avoid the queues at Hackney Wick altogether if you’re going the opposite direction (east)?

It’s closer yes and has never been too busy. Every time I’ve used Hackney we’ve had a few beers in Hackney somdont know how busy that gets.

Agree. Was planning to walk back to Bow Road but DLR was 1min away and platform half empty when passing PML (lazy).
Will continue to be route of choice for when we play them again in a few years

Got to go some to beat the Lizzy Line Ealing Broadway to Stratford then 1 stop on the Mildmerry back to Hackney Wick. We left EB at 5.12 and we're in The Howling Hops Tank Bar just before 6.00pm. Free street parking at EB just off Haven Green from 4.00pm.

Hardly anyone at Pudding Mill Lane last night.
You would not even know a game had been on its that quiet.It does help when most of the home crowd are leaving after the 80th minute.

30 min train back to Rayleigh from Stratford. Unfortunately they’ve changed timetable so missed 10.20 and had to wait 30 mins for next one. Fortunately so many Hammers left early they all made train I missed, so plenty of seats!!

I don't think we can base optimal journeys home off last nights travel. I took a punt that Stratford wouldn't be as difficult as usual and never broke stride until I was sat on a Jubilee Line train

A 20 min walk took me an hour last night. Bastard barriers.

Arrived at Hackney Wick, straight into the Howling Hops Bar, followed by an excellent jerk chicken wrap from the bbq outside the station. Back via Pudding Mill Lane to Canary Wharf and then on to Waterloo. Not a queue anywhere.

A 2-0 win. A perfect night.
