Selling one of your best young players in order to bid £20m for James Tarkowski is something else... I mean, did they check how much he would be?
You can only use the 'we're going to use these funds to strengthen other areas of the team' if you sell a player for 3x the average market value (in their case say £60m plus). £18m won't get you a lot these days and is just one outgoing with little tangible benefit...

Are they meant to be in for tarkowski? £20m for him sounds about as mad as a cut price £15m for either of our "prize assets". Can add 50% to that, easily. Hard to even see Burnley to west ham even as a sideways move at the moment.

Its the West Ham way. Go in low by dangling an unrealistic carrot, try and unsettle the player and then attempt strike a hard bargain. Meanwhile other clubs go in with realistic offer and end up signing the player.
Quite extraordinary that players effectively publicly criticise club transfer dealings. Wilshire at it as well.

The clubs players and the captain don't usually publicly speak slagging off the club for it though.
It's been the same thing for years though, getting rid of the heart and soul for money that is then spent badly, with owners who think they're the dogs b*llocks and never take responsibility. Offering £12m for a £25m value player, leaking it publicly, and over 1 month and a half upping it gradually to £17.5m, then walking away when they predictably still say no then and spending that money on someone not good enough instead who probably is valued at £12m.
But yes, the Tarky story broke about 15 mins before the Diangana news was made official. So insert your own narrative there...

Genuinely feel sorry for West Ham fans having those owners. They were told a lie when they left Upton Park and their new stadium is completely lifeless. Still remember how West Ham unsettled Hogan during one transfer window and he ended up at Villa.
Also seen they have lost 5-3 at home today against Bournemouth. Can really see them struggling and with West Brom and Fulham my three tips for relegation.

Grady was a decent player when he started to hover around the first team a couple years ago. Bit raw but had potential. Decent player £18m probably

Been brewing for years. Sold an absolute lie about the Olympic Stadium and “money to burn” - it’s been money in their back pocket. Constant “got no money” - poor transfers, embarrassing transfer handling.
Despite Rebus’ obvious hatred to all things West Ham. I know probably 40 WH fans (working in East London this happens) and no one thinks we deserve anything. All we want is for some entertaining football, a half decent cup run and for players to give a sh*t.
What we have now is awful football, a bunch of players and tactics which don’t work and David Moyes in charge. Oof.
West Ham have had one decent season (the Payet one) in 10 years. The rest have been flirting with relegation and awful football.
You could see after the Burnley game a few years ago that money somehow magically appeared when the PR got bad.
There is literally no reason why we have no money. The Olympic stadium deal is the deal of the century. Low costs and massive returns. Plus with TV money too - we should be able to spend £60-70m a window. Instead we’re selling young players and then making embarrassing transfer offers for players to make it look like they’re doing something.
Rumour is they’re looking for a buyer. But their valuation will probably be stupidly high.
Even the players have had enough - the fans have had enough for 5 years.
GBS are not fit and proper to run a football club. Parasites.

Interestingly last night Diop, Moyes and Cullen both returned positive results in between the team announcement and kick off last night so went home immediately. All 3 were asymptomatic.
I was surprised that A. the game went ahead, B. when were these tests taken? (are they when they arrive at the ground and then results within an hour?)

thats true - although im learning from the WH forum (yes yes) - that the tests were done the day before and results wernt given until 6:30/7pm last night. I have no idea if they share a dressing room or bus to the ground. So in between that time it does appear it could of easily spread (if that is the case).
i wish them well anyhow.
