Brentford are potentially a far bigger club than Millwall, more suited to Allen's style of management and closer to his family home.
I personally think he'd be mad to go when he has just started a job here, but then the board may be the big stumbling block.
I would be extremely unhappy if he went especially given the way he has built things up.
The only hitch may be the board who I am almost certain won't be offering him an increase in his salary or any extra cash to see the job through.
That would be typical Brentford - to let the best thing that has happened here for decades slip through their fingers for want of a few dollars more.

Agree that he may feel the Board do not match his ambitions or are difficult to work with.

Not so sure about the financial aspects though... maybe he got a sizeable bonus for reaching the playoffs?

Next season will again be difficult financially. There will be few crowd pullers coming to GP. Let's invest what cash we have in the playing squad.

BFC is in financial dire straits due to the previous regime spending money we never had. Throwing extra (non-existent) money at it aint the way to go IMHO - I for one would prefer BFC to live within its means.

MA has had a budget well above WD`s and, I believe, increased during the season. Decent (vital) revenue came in via the Cup run and play-offs but I think you`ll find that the playing staff did okay out of that as their bonuses are (rightly) performance-related.
Not knocking the achievements of this year, but IMHO financial backing has been provided. Not fortunes but realistic sums for a club in our perilous state...

I take your point Pete but sometimes you have to take a (slight) risk to get anywhere in life.
Had MA been given a little extra cash to bring in a proven striker in the final quarter of the season, we'd have gone up.
That would have brought considerable financial advantages for the whole of next season that would have far outweighed any outlay.
I take your point that we have to live within our means but anyone could see what we needed even before transfer deadline day and MA couldn't solve it with the monies available.
The players did well and the club did well but let's not be fooled - MA's playing budget was (and will be next season presumably) among the smallest in the league.
You can play it safe but I would have to see us throw our best chance of establishing ourselves as a Championship side wasted for want of a little bit of speculation.

1. Is that strictly true? He didnt have hundreds of thousands to throw at it but he DID have options which he chose not to pursue, as well as bringing Fitzgerald in.

2. Thats because - financially - we`re one of the most skint teams in the league. How many clubs in our division are £4.5m o/d

If he does leave i will be very anoyed that he made changes to the squad especially to release Deon Burton (mabye to sign him wherever he goes?) Also he says he will be reviewing some players situations later on, so mabye he wont leave. Personally i think he wont leave because he wouldnt go to millwall especially after releasing Ifill and Wise not staying on as a player. The only other job he would take is the West Ham, so lets hoope they win this weekend!!!

martin allen is now emotionally involved with brentford and the people that support the club.

i wouldn't blame him leaving for the premiership
and i would understand west ham
but millwall?!

denying the millwall story
