Aj the bee, RayL didn't apply to become our manager he was effectively appointed by default.

On both occassions RN casually made throw away remarks to the effect that RayL was firstly caretaker as he'd resigned and secondly permanent. My understanding is that on neither occasion was RayL asked, it just happened as it suited RN at that time.

RayL prefers coaching and I would not be surprised to see him take an opportunity at Palace or indeed at Watford with Vialli if it was offered. After all, would you want to work for RN?

Disaster if this is true, I thought he was a good man for the job, seeing he's keen on youth systems rather than splashing cash we don't have. I thought he might be the man to mount a serious attempt at promotion.

If this isn't true, and I don't see any reliable source confirming it yet, then does anyone know where Ray is on his supposed scouting mission as claimed by the club? (seems a little unlikely given the current situation)

In all fairness, we all know that the club probably cannot afford to keep Ray on his present contract. But thats Ron's fault - he was happy to slapsh around the cash early doors and then all of a sudden got hacked off. We really do need Noades out and a fresh start with a fresh chairman with good ideas and a drive to see Brentford succeed in the future!!!

Well it looks like it is true. The offical site says that Ron confirms the link with Watford but they have not approached him yet! The club will issue a statement tomorrow. Goodbye Ray. RIP Brentford!!

According to sky sports Graham Taylor wants to keep Kenny Jackett and Luthur Blissett, as well as Vialli wanting to bring in Wilko, Hitchcock and Fitness guru Pintus. Could be one to many if Ray was to go??

If RL decides to go to Watford that is surely his decision. Rather than "Noades out" due to that, I would prefer we channelled our energy into a "no to wally" campaign, as he is obviously not the tactical genius ron thinks he his.
I bet he just shouted "uselees c****" to all our young players all night and that has the effect of scaring them into not making a mistake and ruins their games!!

Lewington: Mystery absence in Wales

LEWINGTON MYSTERY AFTER SWANS SHAME

Brentford say they've had no official approach for manager Ray Lewington, despite reports that he's about to join Gianluca Vialli's coaching set up at Watford.

Lewington missed the Bees' 6-0 drubbing at Swansea on Tuesday, when coach Wally Downes took charge of the side. Now Brentford say they expect him to take charge of the team against already relegated Luton on Thursday night.

Rumours are rife that chairman Ron Noades has fallen out with Lewington, who is now strongly tipped to join Vialli's Watford revolution along with Chelsea's goalkeeping coach Kevin Hitchcock.

Lewington was only formally appointed as Bees boss after the LDV Vans Trophy area final victory over Southend in March which earned the west London side a day out at Cardiff.

Noades started the season in charge of team affairs, only to step down on November 20 after the embarrassing FA Cup defeat to Kingstonian.

LATE TESTS FOR INJURED DUO
Brentford pair Darren Powell and Paul Evans will undergo late fitness tests to see if they can face Luton at Griffin Park.

Centre-back Powell has a slight hamstring strain while club captain Evans is struggling with a knee problem.

The players sustained the injuries in Tuesday night's 6-0 drubbing at Swansea and the Bees will be looking to bounce back from that defeat against another relegated side.

Coach Wally Downes is set to pick the team again in the absence of manager Ray Lewington who is expected to return for Saturday's final game of the season at home to Bury.

Thank god. I'm not the only one who feels like this. I was begining to think I had missed something.
