Who to replace Gary?

I expect there may be some fans who will base their season ticket renewal on an exciting forward arriving at the club. To save our money and turn in toothless displays for the remainder of the season could well affect next seasons membership sales, regardless of planned marketing activity. Act now, get the right bloke in, lets have a strong end to the season and get people excited for August.

I think Id rather concentrate on a fixed back four . Not letting in weak goals ,Shirley the basis on success ? Reading are doing this for example ,their football is hardly Barca but theyre knocking on heavens door

Actually, we now only one senor first team striker on our books, that and an 18-year old loanee and various development squad players. Apparently, this was unavoidable! Given that we need at least two and probably three more senior strikers we might as well start now.

Does any old timers remember back in the 50, when the Bees had a similar problem, when out of the blue, our dedicated right back by the name of Freddie Monk was put up front and did the job. Perhaps it might work again with Leon Legge.

Would be a gamble but a good replacement similar to Gary. Gives 100%, strong and can score some goals!

On his twitter page last night stated that there would be an update today, then states today we are after him on loan as Hanworth says. If correct seemed to score a lot of goals at this level for MKdons and at championship level, 32 years old though.

That sort of imagination went out of fashion years ago. It was needed Sat badly just maybe to give Berehino some room for his skills but don't spose the manager even thought about it.

Great. Another short term signing to add to the get shot of list come the end of the season.

Perhaps I'm being unreasonable as I suppose this is only ever intended to be a stopgap. Guess I was just hoping for someone with a view to a perm.

With you on that, was hoping for someone with a view to a perm next season so hoped for a younger player. My Norwich City supporting relative has txtd and I quote "a good old warhorse, getting on a bit but will score goals". Guess that is what we need at present.

Think short term is only option and this could suit both clubs and player, get through to may then clear the decks and next season should be classed as uwe's team and hopefully we don't rely on loans all the time.

We need a player immediately, and eying a player that would be loan-with an intention to sign could take a lot longer, as it would have to be a player that we would definitely want to be around the club for a further two years after this one. A loan only is exactly what I expected.

In the summer a number of players will finish existing contracts with clubs, and I'm sure that is when we will be hoping to bring in permanent signings including strikers, just like we did in the summer just gone.

A striker.....who scores goals from open play and not just penalty's.

I reckon you could do a job Hanworth. Ok you're not your classical Target Man but I reckon you'ld still have a better strike rate than Clayton;)

He also has 1 goal in 1 GPG VET game.

Not a bad shout but currently on loan playing in the Chinese Super League for Shanghai Shenhua - a small motoring discretion amongst others may have led to that move....

I spoke to a Reading fan about him the other week, before his loan move. Said he has a lot of potential but can't seem to last more than an hour in any given game.

I saw him earlier this season , versus Spelthorne FC. Yes, he did look very good indeed, but I would imagine the jump from Combined Counties Division One( ie second tier of that league) may be considerd to be a huge gamble. However, some other guys from Guernsey did not do too bad in league football ie Le Tissier, Luscombe, Chalmers...
And he could certainly be one for the future.

Rosler's just not like Scott, who brought in any old player and then never played them. Rosler only wants to bring a player into the club if they're right for us, which is a better way of being. There are just few good strikers out there that meet our standards that are quick and easy to get.

Give him a trial, if he shows promise, i.e. a decent technique, sign him and then loan him out to a Blue Square Premier or Div Two side.
