Wigan away for the 8th time later today.
September 1982, Lost 2-3 (3 penalties & 1 sent off).
June 1985, Lost 1-3 (at old Wembley).
August 1985, Lost 0-4.
December 1997, Lost 0-4.
October 2014, Drew 0-0.
January 2017, Lost 1-2.
March 2019, Drew 0-0.

Only beaten them once away and since they joined the football league in 1978 and that was in 2001.

I first saw us at Springfield Park, goodness knows how many time I've been there but I'm just setting off again, via a pick-up stop in Wiltshire!

Me too!

Did see the one victory in 2001 as well as seeing all the other miserable matches! Off shortly.

It will be my first visit to the shiny DW. somehow I will miss the cow shed and lethal, wet grassy embankment making up the away end at Springfield Park. Always rained whenever I went. Remember being convinced that Les Ferdinand would never make it during his loan spell with us at one game. At least the weather will spark the old memories of Wigan away, it’s due to piss down all day today. But I think playing on the break suits us, looking to grab another away win. Can’t wait!

Replying to GP200, dry and sunny all day yesterday and only gently raining up here at the minute, so can’t see any danger of a postponement. Nowhere near as much rain in these parts as in Yorkshire and Derbyshire

45 minute drive from Chester and here. Was snowing in North Wales earlier, but decent weather here .. not raining. It's still a grim place Wigan.

It’s sweltering and dry. The softies don’t know what luxury this is. Mamby pambies.

Aah!

Memories.

Huddled together under that little cover at the top of the bank.

The grassy bank was a classic. Remember going there on a Friday night once - March 92 I believe - and having one of the best bags of chips I've ever eaten. Had a long discussion about its merits with one of the local policemen.
