It is on the money we have to offer them.

Willock?

Now let me see if I've got this right.

We want a player who can head the ball like Andy Mac used to - ie better than CW or Lloyd.

He's got to be able to flick the ball on nicely like Rowan Alexander did with his feet or Blissett did with his head.

He should be able to control the ball with a single touch like Deon Burton did.

Must be able to score consistently like Sweetzer or Dean H.

Has to be fast - David Crown springs to mind.

Commitment to the cause like Jay Tabb.

And a little bit of flair in the box like Stan Bowles.

He should be prepared to come here for no fee, and be paid peanuts - Junior Lewis-like, allegedly.

And he should be young and hungry, but also experienced, like a super-Michael Turner.

Now we know the job description, he should be a doddle to find then.

2 a season would be nice from Callum, i dont want to set him anything too extreme.

Sounds like Varney at Crewe. I've said it before and I'll say it again - we have to model ourselves on Crewe to survive.

That means putting our trust in a manager prepared to play attractive football and to use and develop home grown youngsters. The better the football we play, the more we are likely to be trusted by parents, academy coaches, district & national FA coaches etc. to take really promising youngsters.

Gradi has been there 20 years or more now and has seen as many relegations as promottions. He hasn't got the sack simply because Crewe know they are a 4th division side and anything better is a bonus. This has allowed him to build a great youth set up. He has also had much better access to loan players from North West and Midland clubs because of its easy access routes. They were at one stage almost a feeder club for Liverpool.

Willock?

If CW gets a few regular starts and has the confidence of the manager then he could well be the forward we are looking for. I thought he showed enough on Tuesday to start against Chesterfield. After all, Leroy was a striker so he should know what is required in the side at the moment. Owusu is not a target man and he played his best football for us alongside Burgess who was. If Nelson is going to continue to punt it upfield then Willock surely has to start with Jo feeding off his knockdowns etc.

Willock?

Let's face it he is totally crap and a complete waste of money. He has had chances to cement his place and has so far done nothing to justify any faith in him.

Pwrsonally I think he is a total disgrace to his profession.

He IS better than he has shown us, his performances and goal scoring record at Peterborough confirm that, but for some unknown reason he has been unable to show us anything.

I have no expectations for him at all - another wastrel seemingly going through the motions and picking up his wages.

Maybe there is something that can be done to turn a key in his brain and make him show us how good he REALLY is, or maybe I was wrong all along - and he just is crap.

I basically agree - he is very poor indeed, not sure if it is down to him just being hopeless with us for whatever reason or problems with his attitude; but I hold out no hope of him being anything other than a total disaster for us.

Really hope I'm wrong

.....then along comes Frank Arnesen...

Willock?

Willock must be showing something in training to consistently make the squad each week. Otherwise he'd be festering on the sidelines with Fitzgerald(minor)? Remember, this is the man who can win a penalty with nobody near him...

Willock?

He's not that bad. He has pace, power and precision and looks a natural born finisher. He is already a crowd favourite and is often double marked by the oppo as they know the score. He brings others into play but sadly they are rarely wearing red n white. Yep he is sh!t but I don't want top dent his poor guy's little confidence and he may come good in a season and a bit.:fishing:

Willock?

i would have to give willock alot of credit again today. played if all his all today. Had a few chances today to score, if he scores i'll think he will banging them away. if a he gets a little bit confidence i can see him being a great player and a legend at our club. don't give him stick just wait and see:sorted: doo doo doo callum willock doo doo doo

Thanks Calum. When are you going to score then?

Willock?

He was probably the second best player on the park yesterday but I think that is a slur on the rest rather than a Willock revival. When you suggest that CW is one of your better performers you will be explaining a defeat rather than a win.

Willock?

Why is it that when Willock puts in at least a half decent performance, everyone moans?

And when Willock puts in a performance that is better than the rest of the team, its down to his team mates playing poorly rather than him playing well.

Its a disgrace! He cant do anything right. You're all comparing his performance against others and thats not fair. Judge them on their individual performance, and not against team mates.
Could it be that he did in fact have a good game yesterday? Doubt it, its better to moan about him still.

Didn't spot his name on the scoresheet yesterday. That's 1 in 23 now.

Willock?

Northampton Bee, I think you must have been at a different game to me mate!

Explain, as you spoke to me twice. Once at the end when you agreed with me telling them just how crap they were and once in the karsi when we discussed how sh!t we had been at HT.

Willock?

I don't normally post about players Ladbroke but Willock was poor...he missed an absolute sitter that my 12-year-old son would have scored and yet again failed to get a shot on goal.
He was at Fulham and must have something about him - I'd just like to see it, that's all.

Totally agree, that was at 0-0 and then he didn't react to the Heywood flick from the corner at 0-0 again. He won 4 or 5 headers and a couple of free kicks and my point is that is all it took to say he was the 2nd best Bee on the pitch as bar Griffiths the rest were pony. You were there who else did as much but in the end so little as CW?

Willock?

Speak to Willock and he's a really nice, gentle bloke, but to be a good effective striker I think you need to be a bit ugly and nasty (Shearer, Windass etc). If anyone can think of a way of winding him up and turning him into a beast, perhaps they could pass it on to Leroy.

Willock?

Jim, I was not there yesterday, i was commenting on overall performances and reading some messages about yesterday's game. I cant comment what happened yesterday, but I still think that all Willock is missing is confidence, and at the moment it must be low.

Lets start to praise rather than criticise!

You really needed to have been there and at Scunthorpe, Orient and Brighton to see what has been going on and see how hard it would be to praise.

A GPGer has a pic that proves that the header Willock missed at 0-0 was mostly due to the fact a defender was pulling him down

His shirt is about eight feet long in the pic

Although at the time I would have said the same.

Rosenior himself was just this type of forwqrd, so I would have thought he would be able to pass on some of his experience and knowhow on how to be a target man. Sadly Willock just hasn't got the makings of any sort of forward, his first touch is usually crap, when it isn't he then falls over, he is never near the end of anything in or around the 6 yard box and he heads a ball with no direction.
He is only heading one way and that is divisions below Ryman etc imho. :fishing:

Willock?

With Wijnhard signing until Lloyd gets back, I reckon Mr Willock will be worrying about splinters from now on.

Willock?

:fishing: Still sh*te though lol

Willock?

My little Alex is listening to his first ever game with his dad, and he says Willock is his most favouritest player, although he still thinks Nelse is pony :fishing:

No t sure I would have called my first born son after Alex Rhoades     Why not Jay or Lloyd:idea:
