Coverage is now on from 7pm to 10 pm on BBC 1 so they dont have to move programmes around if play goes on late

The highlights are no longer at 830 BBC 2 and are in the graveyard BBC 2 slot at 11, 1130 or even 1155 first night

The Main Draw will be done at 10am today

So you can then see which half plays on Monday (Alcaraz half in men and the half that does not have Krejcikova as she opens on Tuesday)

Tarvet's victory in qualifying means there will be 23 British players - 13 men and 10 women - in the singles draw when Wimbledon begins on 30 June.

That is the most since 1984, when there were nine men and 14 women.

Last went 28 years ago.
There were quite a few people leaving early who were offering up their ticket for free, so managed to get into Centre Court ticket that day.

Question about attending. Back in the day I used to attend via late ground admission after 5 pm IIRC (Back in the day was probably 40 years ago ) Later part if the first week was great as you would get to see the doubles on the outside courts. Fascinating to see up close. Anyway the admission was a lot cheaper and it was just rock up and pay. Having a dig around looks like the option is no longer available? Would anyone know?

Basically they have a queue overnight (or 2 nights)

When they have let the allowed number into the grounds it is "full"

But if 10 people leave for the day (and scan their mobile out to say they have left )

Then they can let 10 more in the gate for those who have stayed in the queue

Yes it happened in Madrid

Huge power cut

So the Umpire said he would call the lines

But then they realised that Spider cam was stuck in a low postion when power went down

So couldn't play because it was in the way

I’ll have a little interest e/w on 2023 winner, Vondrousova. She won Berlin (grass) and playing well, after injuries. Wide open of course.
Men’s looks much more straightforward, where the top 2 are clear favourites. Maybe a couple of pennies on Draper, then go into hiding for the first week…

Thanks, Judio. I thought that the Badosa V Boulter might be on one of the show courts. Tough first match for KB against the seeded Spaniard, but has the potential of being a close one.

Yes, a great win against the unpredictable Latvian seed.
And Tarvet's prize for winning is a second round match v Alcaraz! Best of luck, young man!
Also Boulter did well to beat no. 9 seed Badosa (the highest seeded woman to go out so far) in 3 sets. Raducanu beat another young Brit fairly easily but Dart lost in 3.

It seems (although the BBC coverage went somewhere else at the time!) that the ref asked them both what they wanted to do given the 11 pm cut-off and, understandably, Perricard wanted to stop. They should have just allowed play to continue and if there was no result by 11 pm, then they would have come back tomorrow to finish the match. Simples! Poor referring IMO.

Ladies tennis has always been much more unpredictable than Mens

Just take a look at the number of different winners of Wimbledon over the past 25 years or so. Apart from the Williams sisters, no-one has won it more than once.
