or will it? maybe this is the sort of cost cutting KD may bring to the club by absorbing the workload in to the current manpower structure thus saving a few pennies...I dont know, I have no inside information and this is pure guess work

Was reading the os and the obituary list for 2017 and it said staff winnie evans passed away in 2017?

I read that list, didn't realise the club were doing it.
I know of 2 Bees fans missing from it.
One young and one older fan.

Reminds me of the story of when Ian Paisley died. He goes up to the Pearly Gates, demands to be let in, but St.Peter wasn't having it - "You're not on the list, mate, you'll just have to try The Other Place." So off Paisley goes.

A couple of hours later, St.Peter hears a huge banging and rattling at the gates. He pops out to take a look and to his astonishment, it's Lucifer, with a desperate look on his face.

"What do you want?", he asks him.

"Asylum", pleads Lucifer...

Nowadays, each time I go through the process of ordering a ticket online whilst I sip a fresh coffee and casually send the ticket to printer after selecting the the 'print at home option' - I often think of Winnie and reminisce about that equivalent process 15 years ago. And for a moment, I miss the anxiety of ringing the club and the contempt that Winnie would treat me with for having the audacity to be purchasing a ticket.

I worked with Winnie for three years back in the day and I blame the staff above her. She took on far too much work, perhaps out of insecurity, and back then, an all-ticket match meant the club went into complete meltdown trying to answer phone calls - this was around early 2003 when a small amount of capital spend on online ticket software would have eased the burden hugely. The infrastructure was embarrassing. Noades was never going to permit money being spent on Griffin Park as he completely despised the place.

Not one MD took her aside and told her perhaps there was a better way of doing things or gave training. Staff were left to their own devices. Yes, she was rude at times but a bloody hard worker.

Sorry to be slow but who was Winnie Evans. Knew our Winnie well and being polite always worked with her.

I also knew Winnie as well - lovely lady - along with Joyce neate - I think they took a shine to me due to my long trip dedication at the time - not everyday in the 90's you met someone coming to watch that dross from 12000 miles away lol

Fond memories of Joyce myself too. Lovely lady.

Winnie was never smiley or polite despite me being so well connected but she was Brentford and she was one of our own. She was more of a Basil Fawlty character rather than someone to dislike.
Dare I say it I miss her although I think Mads and team are excellent and far better ambassadors for our club.

That does not give her the right to be so rude. You could even tell by the tone in her voice , what a miserable person she was.Being a staunch bee I could put up with it, I wonder how many floating bees got put off from coming to GP. Maybe one of the employees should have kept her off the phones and given her something else to do. did she leave the club, or was she fired? I don't think I could ever recall her being pleasant on the many dealings I had with her. Disgusting the way she dealt with Brentford customers, in a nutshell it;s all about having good manners

I remember talking to her at a bees ball after it was clear she was leaving or more likely she had already left . She definitely wasnt happy about it as she lectured me on the subject for fully five minutes lol

It is all very well that years after she had left the club saying she was a bee through and through. The truth of the matter at her time at Brentford she was abrupt, if the job was too much then she should have left it.

Well she was never nasty, but it always seemed if it was too much of an effort for her. I was always pleasant to her and I expected it back. Maybe I took it wrong. she was never a jolly person in my dealings with her. The girl I liked dealing with was that Aussie, so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. I never wanted the phone consveration to end.

No arguments from me on any of that but senior management should be there to spot flaws and deal with them appropriately.

Dickens forcibly retired her in 2007 and the same happened to Joyce Neate in 1998 after Webb sold the club.

Often see her shopping in Sainsburys Chiswick. Always looks out for Bees results
but says her love for the club isn't the same, especially since her beloved husband
passed away.
