Yeovil Town
Serves them right for beating us. Couldn't see this happening to us if we had won.

Have to agree. Remind me of us in the past. They over achieved, they got promoted, fair play to them, they were a good set of fans and players when they were promoted unlike doncaster. I envy them but i dont begrudge them. We will have a far nicer year next year than they have had this year anywayOn the contrary, I can't bring myself to feel anything but great respect for what they achieved last season on the smallest budget in the league.
There was no gloating from their fans, unlike Donny.
what have they done with the extra money then? their budget has gone up more 6 times yet seem to have made no significant squad improvement?
When.Yeovil lose £500k. Brentford lose £5 million. Both 2012/13 seasons.
If a fighting budget in the Championship is around £10 million, that's near enough double what it is now, our losses for the first year in the Championship could be huge just to stay up. Although the money received in sponsorship & tv would be around £6 million? But £4-£5 mill would still have to be pumped in to the club to give it a chance to stay up. It's going to be interesting to se what will happen - if we go up!

And also huge disappointment that they are unable to make it financially viable to play in that division, it is a dagger to the heart of all small teams.

I thought that Yeovil were actually the team of the season last year based on what they had achieved. I've actually been to see them a couple of times this season and have cheered them on (but they still lost).
Know exactly what you mean [bold], but from a wider perspective, Yeovil should actually be a Role Model for other small teams. And also huge disappointment that they are unable to make it financially viable to play in that division, it is a dagger to the heart of all small teams.

For having just Googled it, I now know that the population of Yeovil is only 40k. And quite honestly, it is hard to see how a team from a town of that size could ever hope to compete on equal terms over any length of time with the likes of Leeds U, Sheff Wed, M'boro, Brighton, Reading, Leicester C, Forest and Ipswich etc.
Their fans might not thank me for saying this, but if they can secure a long-term place in either of the bottom two Divisions of the Football League, that will be quite an achievement (imo).
Fair point, but even then the total population of the entire county is only 900k.On the other hand they are the only club in Somerset, which is quite a big area, so the catchment area is pretty large.

Yeah, gotta say their support did them proud at Wembley. I hate Wembley :-(
