I'm not sure that's how transfers work.
If two different clubs have bid that means two different clubs want to buy him, nothing more.
Possibly someone, possibly Wissa's agent, has nudged them into doing so, but equally one might just be copying the other's homework.

On the other hand PG has said in the past that every player is available if the money is good enough (i.e. silly money, he said cheerfully any one of our players could leave for say £200m if that was what someone somehow wanted to offer) so on that basis he is of course "on the market". But I think we'd be talking very silly money for selling a forward at this stage of this window, with Toney presumably close to leaving.
Agree, but at this point in the transfer window desperation shoots up, especially with certain clubs. Anything can happen, even silly money.

"I feel like there is next to no chance this deal happens but he’s a good profile as he knows the league and can play up top or out wide.

You have to wonder why we are bidding. Do we know something the media doesn’t? Just like when they knew exactly how much we needed for Johnson, have they already factored in a chunky fee for Toney that may not materialise now and need the money from elsewhere?

Even if we don’t get him, I like the fact we are just casually slinging in bids for their best players. It’s like Marinakis just doesn’t see the likes of Brentford and Bournemouth as on our level, and I’m a big fan of this".

Likes the fact they are biding for everyone and getting rejected by everyone ?

"Their best players". I love Wissa, but you'd surely have Henry, Pinnock, Norgaard, Jensen, Mbeumo and Toney clearly ahead of him. And most of the rest probably at least as good!

It is true, but I think valuations will be very far apart at this stage.

Quite right too, We've finished above them nine seasons out of the last 10... Not on our level.

And yet somehow their bids casually being rejected makes us the small time operators.
Still rattled that little old Brentford could afford one of their best players - one actually worthy of that tag - just a year so.

He isn't.

I thought when Wissa had his chance at the start of last year to be the man in Ivan's absence, he fluffed his lines.

Post AFCON I thought he did well.

For me he is a conundrum but fortunately I don't need to make any decisions and can just have an opinion ?
100%, he is so clinical If hate to get rid but he is the perfect impact sub through the middle for me

Johnny Delusional seems unaware that they’ve only finished above us twice in a decade.

If we do keep rejecting offers surely Wissa will be knocking on the door for a new contract?
I’d be surprised if he isn’t offered one. Once the transfers window settles down. I’m pretty sure that’s why we’ve seen some of our players have multiple renewals in a relatively short time span. Otherwise, perhaps he’d prefer a chance to be the main man at a struggling club offering higher wages. Though obviously we aren’t going to let him go this window

I could never be a moderater on here because the tempation to for example change the banner to GONE on things like this and sit back and watch the carnage on the GPG would be too great
Great minds and all that. I had an uncontrollable urge to change the Nunes one to "Not Happening" last night. Like you, I'm grateful that facility isn't open to me.

Would Florist sound out a players agent before making an actual bid? Then only bid if agent said there client was open to considering a move?
This is Florist we are talking about, they look at Football Manager and then contact that club. Probs don't even know who Yoane is

Yoane Wissa

They have made a terrible mistake.

They were actually trying to buy Joanne Wise for their ladies team

Yoane Wissa

I hope we show a bit of leg to florist on this. Just lead them on a bit so they don't look elsewhere and pull out just as they think they're about to dump their load.

Would be a terrible shame if that left no time for other targets.

They'll have to do with a quick shoofty of a 1980s Shoot! annual and a hand shandy.

We couldn't buy a Wiss replacement for £25m. He's bloody good. Toney is going so Wissa stays. Very short negotiations.

I think we should tell Forest a deal could be close but come back with another £2m.

Every time they come back with the extra £2m we ask for another £2m.

Phil could have some fun for a couple of days. What goes around comes around you entitled Forest clowns.

No. we tell them that he can join them when we've signed a replacement but then don't try to sign anyone. If they ask, tell them it's all very confidential.

Forest are a huge club. Let's not forget that everyone. There are still people alive who remember when they were good. The youngest of them are now in their 50s.
Since Wissa was born in 1996, Forest have been in the top flight 4 seasons, the second tier 21 seasons and the third tier 3 seasons.
I don't think we pay them enough respect.

If they offered a big pay rise through his agent he will be up for it. But 15m is hilarious, I suspect anything below 40-45 will be laughed at.

We pay 20m for players that are injured and have never scored yet. We don’t let 10 goal a season EPL players go for 15m ???
