let's be honest he's been woeful in front of goal for a good long while nowThere’s a lot of good play but he’s far from
deadly in front of goal
Unfortunately you cannot argue with that!let's be honest he's been woeful in front of goal for a good long while now
Love him to bits but his “overall play” was not good today. He has to score that chance. It was harder to miss.
He needs to get some goals in the bag over the next few games. You can't have your number 9 not scoring goals.
It's a tough one because his overall play is so good.
He literally assisted the goal....Nothing went right for him today, he had a shocker
So you would be happier if Thiago had scored 10 and nobody else on the team had scored?People can dress it up and put a positive spin on it as much as they like. Working hard. Great holding up play. Brings others into it, etc, etc. no one is questioning his effort
But your no. 9 is there to score goals. And he isn't. Nor does he look like doing so. Form is temporary and class is permanent we know, but anyone saying they're happy with how he's been this season isn't being truthful, imo
It's possible to have both. No relevance of a whataboutery comment. This is about Thiago's performances. And they've been nowhere near most of last year's. That's the point. So you would be happier if Thiago had scored 10 and nobody else on the team had scored?
Its a team game and i for one am loving sseing goals come from everywhere thanks to Thiagos tireless workrate
He is playing a different game this season, double, triple teamed. It's possible to have both. No relevance of a whataboutery comment. This is about Thiago's performances. And they've been nowhere near most of last year's. That's the point.
What a load of b***ocks. He has to score that chance. It was harder to miss.
Agreed. He is playing a different game this season, double, triple teamed.
He has adjusted to this by being more open to coming out wide, dragging defenders out of position to help others.
I would commend both him and KA for doing this - a lot of strikers would say they want to stay where they were to the detriment of the team and to keep their stats high
Do you think he had time to side foot it ?thought it was more like an outstretched toe poke others have said it was a tap in.Apologies. just seen the equalising chance back and Igor DOES get to it. But plays it with the outside of his right foot. A side foot may have been a better option.
Not just today.Love him to bits but his “overall play” was not good today.
Apologies. just seen the equalising chance back and Igor DOES get to it. But plays it with the outside of his right foot. A side foot may have been a better option.

Could have got his toe to it and redirected it, but anything but a "tap in"
....bit unlucky not to get more on it...but god knows he's trying.
Beginning to wonder if he's a one season wonder?
Maybe time to give Callum Wilson a start and when Furo is fit hopefully he'll be able to challenge for a starting spot.
My opinion having watched him play and i've stated why I believe that to be the case. Hope that clarifies for youWho says so?
I would have replaced him with 10 minutes to go with Wilson.
love IT but lets try Wilson up front v Hull
This attempt at a finish is really abject. So far removed from the Igor of last season who would have scored this chance every time.
He hasn’t stopped jumping for headers. He is continually fouled when the ball comes towards him. Often by Jacquet who then collapsed on the floor when he was attacked by a daisy.Been poor pretty much all season. His first touch, hold up play has been largely sketchy, he has stopped jumping for headers and gives the defence a free run all game. His decision making on the ball has been horrible most of the time.
I think he needs to play through it, dropping him won’t help, it can turn around very quickly.
He's on 4 bookings. Granted I'm not sure any of them should've been, but hard to be in the faces snarling at opposition when you get booked for your first "tackle"Tough gig 2nd half but in general we need way more from him. Everything seems laboured and despite the assist I’d rather he was in the box more often.
Last season he snarled at the oppo as he knocked them about. All a bit nice and smiley this season.
100% disagree. This attempt at a finish is really abject. So far removed from the Igor of last season who would have scored this chance every time.
Abject because it is so technically sloppy. He gets there first and it is a sidefoot into what is basically an open goal, Alisson having been completely taken out by the beautiful cutback by JA. Instead he tries to hit it with the toe/ outside of his boot, and makes a complete meal of it. If he had got any solid contact on the ball it is a certain goal, and for me it is a very poor miss.100% disagree.
"Abject"?? In what way?
Van Dijk is clear favourite to get their first as the ball is crossed, but IT manages to get his foot/toe in front and tries to poke it in. Which is pretty much all he could do under the circumstances.
May well have gone in last season, as everything seemed to for him. Just not getting that luck at the moment.....
No one is claiming he had a great game (you can see that from his rating) and I’m not sure how to access xG stats for individual events. Thiago had an xG of 0.45 for the whole match yesterday. Therefore, to characterise any of his chances as “a certain goal” is inconsistent with reality. Big chances missed is also 0.He gets there first and it is a sidefoot into what is basically an open goal, Alisson having been completely taken out by the beautiful cutback by JA. Instead he tries to hit it with the toe/ outside of his boot, and makes a complete meal of it. If he had got any solid contact on the ball it is a certain goal, and for me it is a very poor miss.
