That's only because of the success of the 2012 Olympic games. During the Olympics, hundreds of thousands of tickets for the Paralympics hadn't been sold, but as spectators couldn't get tickets for the main Olympics and wanted to see the Olympic Park etc and just be part of London 2012, the tickets were selling out and even sold out in the end for the stadium.
If it was just the Paralympics this year, ticket sales wouldn't have been as high, it was the success of the Olympics which boosted ticket sales.
I watched the athletics and the cycling, On and off, on tv but found many of the other sports boring. Although I did admire, and acknowledge, the courage and sportsmanship of all the participants, whether they were blind, amputees, paraplegics, dwarfs or cerebral palsy sufferers, they were all a credit to themselves and their country.
It's been a great summer and the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics have shown the world how good we are at holding & supporting these huge world sporting events. They'll be a hard act to follow. Shame FIFA didn't see the same with regard the World Cup.
