Accrington

The Accrington Stanley official photographer (KIPAX) has been in contact with me. Apparently he has registered on this site, but doesn't have permission to post yet.

He's pulled me up about the "open terrace" references. Apparently the Coppice Terrace is open to the elements, but Brentford fans will have access to another area of terrace which is covered and is pictured here.

As regards the weather, KIPAX says: we have NEVER had a first team game postponed for waterlogged pitch (one abandoned) as we have good drainage system.. however even I am a bit nervy with the current rainfall

You can see other pics of the stadium here and here

supposed to stop raining late today then clear through the night. I am still hopeful. They must have had worse weather than this before and as pointed out no postponements yet. Fingers well and truly crossed.

Update on weather sites; 9am Thursday

BBC - Thursday -Showers
Friday - Heavy Rain
Saturday - Fine

Met Office-
Thursday - Rain
Friday - Fine/Light Rain
Saturday - Fine/Light Rain

Think they make it up as they go along - anyone got any seaweed?

Been keeping an eye on Metcheck the forecast is improving they were predicting much more rain over the next few days yesterday*

*rainfall predictions can increase as well decrease, your rail ticket is at risk if you do not keep an eye on the weather forecast or other factors secured on it.

Going via Leeds. It's an only option at the moment as I hope to be watching us. The other alternatives are Blackburn, Rochdale or Halifax. :grey:

Rochdale have had several home games called off this season, so if ours goes that may do as well. Best alternative for those training it to Preston might be Blackburn v Boro.

Accrington

Bit of Premiershit action instead if postponed but spoken to the club and they said no match has ever been close to being called off yet, so they cant see why this one would (dont quote me just what a Northern boy just told me!)

Accy Chairman has said that whilst there has been a helluva lot of rain the pitch is playable. Part of the pitch has been covered and they are expecting heavy rain but they fully expect the game to be on ! :sorted:

Nice on David!

Thought it was a nice touch that as acting CEO you have agreed to reimburse all train tickets and unrefundable Travelodge rooms if the game is called off too! Good work fella! :sorted:

Another alternative is Blackpool vs. Ipswich I think.

Wouldn't mind visiting Ewood Park though. Will probably go there in February as well for the Lancashire derby.

What we need here, is someone to go out on a scouting mission and report back (via this medium) to all the Bees fans thinking of making the long trip and departing on Saturday morning. ;)

I don't think that people who don't have awaydays in their blood realise why we are so desperate to be there tomorrow. Is it sad or desperate?:D

It's awesome, and what following lower league teams is all about. A huge majority of old skool Prem fans would love the chance to have 3pm Saturday games in the outposts of the country, visiting ramshackle grounds, getting wet, on the beer, seeing faces. Love it !
