10.50 am update
Accy Stanley can't see it being a problem ;
"not as much rain fell last night as was expected, the pitch is covered so ......."
The invasion of Lancashire is on.
I have 2 spaces in my car
If anyone is interested in leaving from the Brentford/Twickers area, PM please![]()
Smiffy's good company, he'll even stop in lay bys and hold you down and shag you. Anyone up for this?

Really looking forward to this one now..........
Having never been there before, is there any decent pubs that everyone is meeting or are we going to be ALL OVER THE PLACE ............
1.45pm Update - Its now brightening up at Stanley.
Whole pitch is now covered, most surface water has already drained away, very confident that the game goes ahead!
Sent an e-mail to Accrington yesterday. Here is the response:
thank you for your email, we’ve had quite a bit of rain these last couple of days however the pitch has been protected with covers and the rain is expected to stop well ahead of the match and so we are not expecting any problems. have a safe trip up!
best regards,
rob

Oh, and wait for me this time, Brian doesn't finish work till 1 so won't get there much before 2, I really hate missing the boy on boy action![]()

The Accrington Stanley official photographer (KIPAX) has been in contact with me. Apparently he has registered on this site, but doesn't have permission to post yet.
He's pulled me up about the "open terrace" references. Apparently the Coppice Terrace is open to the elements, but Brentford fans will have access to another area of terrace which is covered and is pictured here.
As regards the weather, KIPAX says: we have NEVER had a first team game postponed for waterlogged pitch (one abandoned) as we have good drainage system.. however even I am a bit nervy with the current rainfall
You can see other pics of the stadium here and here

I don't think that people who don't have awaydays in their blood realise why we are so desperate to be there tomorrow. Is it sad or desperate?![]()
To be fair he's taken them up through 3 leagues in 8 years, so must have been doing something right - though I notice a few of their fans on their board thinking he's taken them as far as he can, also bare in mind he's coming to that interview on the back of an 8-2 hammering, probably wouldn't look good to be smiling and joking, and he sounded like he had a horrible sore throat!![]()
I've seen him on Granada Soccer Night (a programme with even less of a production budget than The Championship and with THE worst presenter ever) and he seemed quite jolly.
Surely the advanced northern brigade should be giving us an update by now![]()
