I admire your optimism, but Ipswich and Derby will both get a point each on Saturday. Stranger things have happened, but to quote my old mucker Brickie chap.....our season finished Good Friday.

Slightly odd then that they are celebrating long and hard for getting to the richest league in the world that Sky created?

Watched the game live in Houston. For a team that many thought would fall away, they did very very well tonight.

Maybe they will come straight back down - but with £230 million banked they will come back better and stronger.

As we would have :(

Really pleased for them. Envious of course and I still remember the words of the Leeds manager after we beat them 1-0 at their place when he said we had a bit more steel than Bournemouth.

It's perfectly ok.

Bournemouth, I believe, are going to expand the stand behind the goal, the one to the left of where the visiting fans sit/stand!

Correctamondo.....as well as the corners being utilised better, I heard they are looking at 18 - 20,000?

They haven't spent much money, only Wilson cost a fee which was the same as the fee they got for grabaan .last season they spent £250k on Adam smith who's a quality rb ...they've invested wisely and have reaped the benefits.

Have thought Muff to be a year ahead of us in terms of progress... I thought we'd come between 9th and 12th this season so, all things considered, we're catching them up quicker than I thought. Obviously I'm not an owner prepared to put additional funds in when things were going better than planned so I'm able to still think we've exceeded expectations already.

Now we're here though, we have to smash Wigan into League One (hoping they're already down by Kick off) and hope for a bit of luck. If POs don't work out then we have to be aiming for Top Two next season just as we did in 13/14 following a PO campaign.

Further along, hopefully Muff will peak, get relegated back down and we'll make a more sustainable indent on the Premier League.

Happy days.

Agree. He was superb that nightand always been a bit gutted since that we've never signed him. Was on loan from Pompey if I recall correctly.

I think you'll find their budget is big and they spent a lot in League One but if you want to pretend they have done it on fresh air and guts then so be it. I like Muff, they have provided me with some of my best away days ever but this isn't some sort of David beating Goliath going on here.

And to be fair, neither is it with us. It makes for a good story though.

Your season might have. Sure there's about 8,000 who don't share that view though. Plus a watching TV nation that saw us impress at Derby :shrug:

It's the squad they have built. Solid options all over the park. Francis I thought would be a massive loss, but Smith was excellent tonight. Really hope we can keep a good 10 or 11 nucleus of this seasons squad and then add good options all over the park. Great to see though that you can still pick up players from lower leagues and mould them into a fantastic team like Bournemouth are

We're very similar in styles , we just lack a Callum Wilson (class act) and perhaps a Pugh and Elphick.
But really we aint far behind them :sorted:

Chairman Jeff Mostyn assured fans in recent BBC interview, the plan of expansion will be implemented. "We know we can expand to 15,000 without any problem and hopefully look at further development," Mostyn told BBC Radio Solent's Sportshour show.

"We've spoken before about filling in the corners and that would probably take the capacity to 18,000."

I was down there the other week and read in the local press quotes of 18 -20K........approx 40% increase.
They have the catchment to fill it every week ala Naarwich.......PS my neighbours are gutted.....lol

Cook and Elphick have started every league game this season. That has been massive for them. Ritchie is quality and will cope next year. Not convinced with Wilson. They will have to have a plan B. The out and out wingers may not work for them. Like to see where they are going to get another 6,000 seats in.

You have to remember that they've had a season longer than us in the Championship than us and we've had a much better season than they did last season. Honestly think the only difference between them and us this season has been the depth of strikers. They've had Kermorgant, Pitman and Kenwyne Jones to support Wilson. We've had Proschwitz, Tommy Smith and an injured/unavailable Hogan and Long to support Gray.

The reported fees for Rantie and Wilson were £2.5 million and £3 million. For the other forwards the fees were undisclosed.

Compared to most of the other teams near the top in the championship or below they haven't spent much.i would not be surprised to see them do ok next season as there are so many awful teams in the top flight

When their accounts are published, I think you'll find that their playing budget over the last few years has been one of the largest in the 'non-parachute' clubs. The squad has been assembled by decent transfer fees, very decent salaries and exceptionally decent bonuses.
