Amir Khan

a few glancing blows and it was over....its about time he was really tested now

Amir Khan

Bang, first time I have seen him knocked down... but recovered well.. reckon he will still do it... anyone else watching? :box:

Amir Khan

 Even moreso now... I should be a pundit :sorted: I give this fellow another 60 seconds in the next round :box:

Amir Khan

It was a good tear up. Not often that both boxers get knocked down in the same fight.

Limond's face looked a right mess at the end!

Amir Khan

Khan will have to tighten up his defence big style if he wants to win a world title, Limond is not a big puncher by any means. In fact i will make a big statement here and say khan will not win a world title

Well he's got enough time to win one. He came back well tonight, but looking back he will be glad that the round when he hit the mat ended when it did.

The match between Sprott and Skelton afterwards was dire.

Amir Khan

Good fight afterwards on ITV4. Pryce and Small I believe - honest fight.

Amir Khan

Khan Limond was a cracker. Experience of Limond against the speed of Khan.

Khan drops his gaurd a bit too much and even after he went down, he was slow to get his gloves up.

Good come back. He will need to work on his game if he is to go for a world title.

Sprot and Skelton was like watching paint dry.

Amir Khan

Skelton vs Sprott was terrible

Chants of "Bruno, Bruno" were going up at the end.

Even at forty five Frank could take out any british heavyweight today..

Frank may have been an average fighter but at least it wasn't dull!!

The match between Sprott and Skelton afterwards was dire.
Yeh me and the wife were watching it and when the crowd chanted "What a load of rubbish" I had instant flashbacks to Bees vs Rotherham. Never understood why Sprot was going backwards unless he was genuinely scared the Skelton was going to knock him out or he was a bit shaken by the Khan outcome (Khan looked a bit upset to have won at the end) or that he simply wasn't up for it. He could have stopped Skelton coming forward simply by keeping him away with his left jab but the second they broke he was going backwards again. Mysterious scoring too.

:imwith:

By the way the judge who scored the Sprott-Skelton fight as a draw is a disgrace. Terrible fight and the only highlight of it was in between one of the rounds where Sprott's chief second berated him for his lack of effort in the round. :D

It was a shame they kept going to ads between rounds, it would have brightened up a dull fight to see the Spearmint Rhino girls carrying the round boards.

......damned good scrap........broken jaw for the ex champ..............

An old mate of mine was in Sprotts corner, Darren Whitman from Shepperton.
Kept trying to get a good look of him on tele except each round he and the other two just kept looking at the floor shaking their heads in disbelief!

What a disgrace Sprott was to the name of Boxing...:nono:

How one judge gave it a draw is unbelievable.. he should be struck off immediately...Sprott didn't connect all night..

I was most annoyed about the ads, would have preferred a quick look back at the round than looking at bimbos though

A contest that makes boxing a joke. Khan at least 16lbs heavier,

A joke.

Amir Khan

Earl was ranked British No1 and has beaten the current European champion as well as being former undefeated British, European and Commonwealth champion. This guy can fight and even Katsidis took 5 rounds to get rid of him. I wonder if Khan will now go on and fight Jon Thaxton or the European champion as he is pencilled in for a fight on 2nd February

I know! What aload of rubbish! That last combo was 12 clean punches to the face without and fight back or defence.

He is just too quick and strong for any of those in that weight division.

However, if he stepped up a weight he may well struggle.

Khan's audience - Bloke from Grange Hill and Audley Harrison.
Hattons audience - Beckham, Jude Law, Brad Pit, Gwen Stefani..

Khan is only young but they need to step it up a bit now..
Not quite sure why but I'm going off the guy too.

I could see another Naseem Hamed coming this way with him pretty soon..

Feather Fisted lol Good work again Frank :zzzzz:

19-1-3 (5)

Only 5 stoppages in 23 fights. Feather-Fisted seems accurate.

He has a points loss against a 39 year old Stefano Zoff (but it was in Italy. He could have KO'd Zoff in one round and still lost ) but improved enough to get a draw against a 40 year old Stefano Zoff a year later.

this guy is no where near the level of Gairy St Clair.

Why Frank Why???????

Amir Khan

did he do the same with Bruno...??

No.

He didn't manage Bruno untill after the first Tyson fight. Bruno started out under the Mickey Duff - Terry Lawless team.

Also boxing was a different animal. when Bruno started fighting. For a start the IBF didn't exist. It was only WBC or WBA belts.

However his current M.O. of feeding people 35 "mexican roadsweepers" as Nigel Benn used to call them and pocketing the money, is getting boring.

Quality scrap tonight which showed that Khan does need a few more fights before world dominance - fair play to Gomez but did the Ref stop it too soon ?

Amir Khan

Was an exciting fight, I think Gomez wanted to continue and would have been good to see another round or so.

Khan looked good on the offensive, but looked rattled when Gomez caught him with several body shots.

Amir Khan

I think the ref stopped it at the right time, Gomez was definitely gone and to allow Khan to keep pummeling him could have caused serious damage.
Gomez could take a punch though
Really exciting fight

Amir Khan

Khan still looks vulnerable, and the punch that knocked him down didn't seem to be that hard.
