The board have got a tough decision, if they leave him in charge for this week it would be very unfair to sack him next week if we lose on Sat with an injury/illness depleted strikeforce and if he tries a different formation. I would also expect them to ignore Orient in JPT and make a decision after Oldham.

I'm (probably) younger than you both (I realise I am making a bit of an assumption there according to the tone and reflective nature of your posts), but even I know that supporter unrest with the status quo wasn't invented overnight in 1992. Or after Euro 1996 for that matter. Or when the Internet was invented (of course, no doubt the Internet helps magnify such emotion).

None of the discourse-changing developments I have referred to have altered the basic instinct of the football supporter to express disappointment. The fact we are on a discussion board, discussing the pros and cons, rather than behaving in the obscene way that Southampton fans did over Ian Branfoot back in the early 1990s before we became all "throw-away" and in search of "instant gratification" demonstrates that if anything we have evolved.

Its not one striker though. You have a flexible 4-3-3 that can be 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 at any stage if required. Many teams ar now playing this type of formation and has been a problem for us when our central 2 chase against 3 who pass around them.
This way you keep your wingers and get Bean and Dave forward mor eoften too with late runs into the box.

BTW, Tranmere stuck with the Barnes/McAteer dream team until November last season, and they only escaped relegation on the last day. Waiting until Christmas if it carries on like this is a dangerous option. It means whoever comes in is immediately under greater pressure than is the case if a change is made sooner.

I mentioned him over the weekend, he comes across a right character with a team that seem to play a brand of football with a smile on their faces.
I always think that most teams play to the personality of their manager.
Coppell's lot were methodical and clever.
Allen's lot were all energy and attitude.
Terry Evans's lot, sorry I mean Holder's lot were brothers in arms.
