Scott did a good job when he took over from Butcher, he made some astute signings when we needed the final push the season before last, Clark, Rhodes and Hunt.

when it looked as if we'd be bottom 4 last xmas he turned it around with the excellent loan signing on Woji although 9th was a false position imo and more to do with Woji than the rest of the team so I hope he can do it again now

.He wont have too long left if results carry on as they are but he has proved he can turn it around before so I think he can now. What I'd like to see is the fringe players like Saunders, McCracken go to free up some wages for a couple of new additions especially in centre mid where we clearly lack an attacking option

very good post.

not certain why he signed mccracken. or, tbh, dave as he is very similar to our other central midfielders.

oh for a creative midfieder!

Does Andy Scott actually know what a creative midfield player is???
He would rather have 5 centre backs 4 wingers, anything but a creative midfielder

You cannot play 2 wingers and the mythical creative midfielder.

Andy Scott

has he gone yet ?

I really hope AS is given the next 4-5 games to turn things around, you just can't go sacking a manager after 5 defeats.
He is i believe capable of sorting things out and will if given time.
Remember pre Scott please and allow him some time,i don't believe he will let us down.

Pull yourself together and get that bottom lip back in, there were plenty of good times before Scott and there will be afterwards.

scotty is a good manager, he will sort it out... dont panic !!! yet....

What is the point in wingers when we have no firepower to bang the goals in? I can't believe what some people write on here. that is why we have only scored four goals.:banghead:

Andy Scott

Were playing Charlton not Wealdstone

The way the Bees are perming or not performing, we would probably lose to wealdstone too. All this ''Give andy time'' crap is starting to do my head in.
Do us a favour Mr Scott, pack your bags, collect your P45 and **** off.

Andy Scott

Bean's comments on the OS are interesting. He says 4-5-1 suits the players and enables midfield to get forward. Does this mean the players don't like AS's rigid 4-4-2 ? Is there a lack of faith in the squad?

What's mythical about a creative centre midfielder ?
All proper footballing teams have them...........

Absolutely correct, there are too many people on here wearing rose tinted specs, once he's gone he'll be forgotten

I just hope the decision to sack him isn't left with Gregg Dyke, don't forget he's the man who employed and bigged up Terry Butcher the night he introduced him to the fans.....I was there :nono:

Come on Matthew you're the only one putting in serious money, don't let it all go to waste....

Creative Midfielders are not mythical. We don't have one that doesn't mean they don't exist.

I don't personally care if we don't play two wingers but 4 goals in 9 games means it isn't working .

Can Scott change his style of football? If he can, will he? If the answer to either of those questions is NO then he has to go before our average gate reaches 3000 odd.

Despite what ROB says Andy and Matthew are quite tight, hence the budget increase and joint chats about signings and even tactics. It's gonna be a test for Matthew to let him go, so I'd expect it would have to be really bad before he would give him the chop. Forget Greg, abee, and Bees Utd, it will be his call. He owns us in all but name.

If the decision to appoint butcher was Dyke's alone then I am Danny Allen Page.
If I recall correctly that decision was a very popular one bar a handfull of fans.

Good post Davee, but Matthew is an astute businessman and hasn't got to where he is by being Mr Nice Guy. Everyone has applauded Scott for being ruthless with his players, maybe now it's his turn to be on the other end of it.

That would be me then.
Give him more time.
What do the angry brigade hope to achieve by ditching the gaffer at this very early stage of the season ?

Owner/Chairman relationships are always good when the teams doing well. Now will be the test, dont know any successfull self made business men who would be comfortable seeing their money being spunked away."Really bad"could it get much worse,he has doubled his funding this season only to see season ticket sales and attendances down on last season, and the team bottom of the league. If like most businesses he is being squeezed at the present time he may not have the "tightness "with Scott.

Disagree here Nick, its entirely possible with a holding player behind.

And some holding players can create through passing (say a Carrick) or by carrying a goal threat (say a Huddlestone)

And I don't mean those actual players, just illustrating a point.

We are the angry brigade now are we,add that to insurgents, hysterical doomongers what next? The anger l see on here comes from your side of the debate (excluding ROB)How does it go now.
We have only played 3 games get real,4.......5.....6......7......8,,,,,,,,,9.........its like Hitler in the bunker telling his army we will win the warlollol

This may be true, I don't know. I hope at least he has a word. He's a strange character. Scruffy and really nice, but I'm not sure if he knows where to run if it's going a bit tits up?? Dyke certainly doesn't know anything, and will probably go on holiday for a few weeks, with his fingers crossed, when things get tough.

According to Greg's Nephew he's about to drop kick Scott out on his arse, so you may be in luck.

 Could be working on his compensation pay right now as we speak.

Andy Scott

if the football wasn't so crap id want to give him more time, but its diabolical . hopefully hell be gone tomorrow.

Andy Scott

Without Everton last week, AS would be gone by now already. I feel at the moment there is a risk of repeating the Noddy Holder mistake of 93, where it is assumed that because someone won a promotion, they deserve to be given an extended chance when things are going badly. This is highly dangerous.

I think he should go, but at the same time, if the board reacted in the same way it would feel a bit sudden. Part of me expects he'll get a few more matches yet, but that few would be no more than 4 I suspect. He's in trouble.

On a happier note, this time last year Brighton were deep in the brown stuff, and look at them now. Did they change manager? I can't remember, but I am sure someone will be happy to tell me....

Andy Scott

I know I will get slated, but I think As deserves more time. He has done a good job up till now, and this club has come a long way during his tenure. We have now hit a blip , and some posters on here are going way over the top. Personally I am not keen on him. But give the bloke a chance to try and turn it round.
