Barnsley Updates.

I think Steve986 is right - Wycombe is another must win game, but it is winable (Wycombe are already down, it's at home etc) and it raises the possibility that the away game at Grimsby might not be crucial. Who could've imagined that a few weeks ago?

Of course he's right but who in their heart of hearts would have expected a 2 - N I L victory at Barnsley today? C'est magnifique!

I heard that, he sounded like he was about to top himself. He's probably thinking this time last year I was preparing for the 1st Division playoffs.

Quality result. As mentioned elsewhere, if we stay up, next season could be very nice.

This is a TOP result. On paper this and Hartlepool was the toughest of all the games since MA arrived. I had zero points from these two and we got six!

Like others I think Wycombe is an important game. Maybe not 'must win' but I feel we need at least one more win from the rest of our games.

Looking at the present table, I think one, maybe two teams could get relegated with 50 points or more.

Well done to Mad Dog and the boys for this excellent result(a game which I had written off in my predictions for the last 8 games!):D :D

No let up now guys....still got 3 to go

JB............we're gonna do it:D  :D

And Stockport are at home to Grimsby next week. A win for us and Clare Bear and we will be all but there.........

Still got this feeling we will need a point at Grimsby though....that game has been lurking in the background!!

and what's to stop us getting a 2-0 away win at the haddocks or whatevcer they're called? MA has got a momentum and spirit going that's getting harder to stop. 2-0 at Barnsley! Still can't absorb it having lived through this season.

So far under Allen we've had 4 wins and 2 almost-wins: pretty good stuff.

Wycombe is a banana skin. Total focus please
It's definitely a potential banana skin.

I had a sneaking suspicion about today's game, and the lads didn't let us down. An absolutely BRILLIANT effort, lads - a 2 goal victory and a clean sheet. Without looking at my last programme, I can't remember when that last happened.

MA is doing a marvellous job with a bunch of players that we knew was good enough to at least survive in this division. He'll know more than anyone that the next game is a potential banana skin - at home, against the already relegated bottom club. We must make sure that we are on top of our game for that one, and I'm confident that MA and the lads will give their all. We don't want the last 7 games' results to go to waste, do we?

Great effort today -well done to everyone and I'm sure that the journey home for those that went is very pleasurable.

Come on you BEES :) :) :)

Tom Watt (Lofty) interview Maddog on BBC London:

Lofty: "Thought you were in for a hard game today Martin, Barnsley gave QPR a very hard game last week."

Maddog: "That's because we're better than QPR, Tom"

My hero

Wycombe

As all of us (and especially Martin and the team know) Wycombe is a very tough game next week.

They are out to prove things to Tony Adams, despite their relegation, and will see a good result at GP almost in the same way we all see a hgood result at Loftus Road.

It would be a damn pity if today's excellent result (Barnsley were going so well) was undermined by a bad one next week.

Anyway I'll be joining you all (for the first time this season, shame on me) to cheer the Bees on to safety (hopefully, please).

Whatever happens, with MA in charge, next season promises to be a cracker.

My dream of dreams would be for the Bees to be playing Reading (ie Brentford two years ago) in the First Division in two years time. MA may make it happen, if we can stay up this year.

All us Bees fans are optimists, aren't we? I think it goes with the territory.

PS - I suspect Grimsby away will still be the clincher and need a big Bees support.
