Anyone know the best email to raise a complaint about quality of a purchase?

Got the KLM blue shirt, wore it once for the Southampton game and the bloody badge is already peeling away.

:banghead:

they’ll probably direct you to the manufacturer Copa, if it’s the sky blue & diagonal white lines pattern one

Was planning on buying the green away kit for my 7 year old grandson for Christmas. Since when has it been OK for a club to charge £86.00 for the whole kit? Would like to know what the cost to the club is. Needless to say won't be buying it at that price. Kids grow quickly and will probably only get a year's wear out of it. At least adults buying a shirt won't outgrow it, unless you're a paddock fatty.

My grandson doesn't get his kit and the club don't get my money.

I brought my granddaughter the pink shirt for yer 11th birthday
I had no idea but the biggest child and the smallest lady's shirt are exactly the same size.
It's just the difference in price about £20

This graphic gives a rough idea of the distribution of revenue for kit sales. If you’re buying from the club they get the retail element plus the club element so in total around £30. They’ll need to subtract costs of running the shop or online outlet of course. So I don’t know what the actual profit would be. The Price of Football podcast did a piece recently saying clubs made more from manufacturer sponsorship than actual kit sales. But still not a bad profit I imagine.

It’s also worth remembering that BFC’s share of the price may well be lower than Man U’s given that the number Brentford shirts being sold is likely to be one or two orders of magnitude smaller than theirs. It may be lower still for away/3rd shirts (which is why they are incentivising buying both). Sales of shorts and socks are probably in the lowish hundreds a year and so may well be even lower margin.

Good point. Individual clubs will have different deals and contracts with the manufacturer
And apologies if anyone was triggered by the choice of kit ?. It was the only graphic I could find.

And just to add a cut in retail price by, say, £10 could easily see a club making a loss (dependent on overheads).

Aiui, basically this is down to the manufacturers. They cannot impose a minimum selling price (contrary to Competition Law), so instead they pay the clubs a set licensing fee to produce and sell their product, with the bigger the club/likely shirt sales, the bigger the fee.

They then supply the kit to the club at a very high price, meaning that the clubs cannot really reduce the price much before they'd start to lose money. It also helps the manufacturers since it means the likes of JD Sports and Sport Direct cannot buy in bulk and sell at a discount etc, yet they still have to stock the big clubs (at least), to get punters into their stores, where they can then also sell them eg a 10 pack of pairs of white sports socks for £3.99 which cost them 0.99p from Vietnam (huge %age mark-up if you can sell enough).

The only exception to this is at season end when the kit is going to be replaced and the clubs sell the old one at a discount, sooner than find themselves stuck with unsold gear. (Dunno whether the manufacturers help them with his, or just leave it all on the clubs?)

Anyhow I think I read that one big exception to all the above is Liverpool FC, who are thought to have negotiated to buy the kit at much nearer the actual manufacturer's price, on the basis that they can sell enough to forego the licensing fee (or part thereof) and still come out ahead. While their shirts are so much in demand worldwide that they can enforce such a deal with the manufacturers, who otherwise much prefer the usual arrangements.

Hello, does anyone know what time the meet and greet event is on tomorrow? I saw the app notification and tapped on it, only to be taken to the app homepage with no further information and now the notification is gone. Would love to take my son. Thanks in advance...

I’ve never felt the need to wear a club shirt (except in my avatar, obvs) but now full of warmth and fellow feeling after yesterday, and having been invited to partake in a discount offer, I’m considering it for the first time.

But a question for the panel: there are options for a ‘PL standard sleeve patch’ and/or a ‘PL player sleeve patch’, but I’ve never looked closely enough to our shirts to know what these are in detail, presumably the PL lion features in one or both, and perhaps the ‘No room for racism’ slogan (which I’d be happy to wear).

Would someone please elucidate?

One is bigger than the other (I forget which way round - but the more expensive one is obviously the larger one).

The Players' PL shirt badge is the biggest.

I am sitting outside the superstore typing this.
I have driven a long way to get a child’s shirt for a friend’s child who I am taking to the match on Sunday. The store is closed although the website says it should be open ! I have spoken to David in the box office who advised he knows nothing about the shop and that he can’t transfer me to anyone from the box office. I have also called the shop and there is no answer with the call going to an answer machine which is full. Anyone got any phone/email addresses I can contact to see if the shop will be open tomorrow as I will drive from Windsor , where I am staying tonight, if it is going to be open .

Thanks option 4 voice box full !
Someone came out for a cigarette and told me they are closed today for stock take and there is a note on the website but I can’t see it.
Anyway confirmed they will be open tomorrow ?

Bees Superstore

Definitely no note on the website. In fact it says the store is open, see bottom right of the screenshot. I guess someone "forgot" to put the note up...

For a club that never wanted a shop we certainly do our best to prove ourselves right.
Brentford F.C. Superstore, possibly the Premier League's best kept secret, previously bought all my Bees merchandise online however before the Forest game I had some time to kill so googled details of the BFC Superstore which directed me to Braemar road, "That's funny I thought, that's where the old one was", however knowing there wasn't a store in or near the G Tech I assumed they left the store where it was - Doh!. Where the hell is it?

The Superstore is At the top of Lionel Road, over the bridge leading from North/West Stands.

5 days for dispatch seems very excessive on items purchased online.

Shirt ordered last Thursday and still awaiting dispatch.

Birthday for the boy now missed!!
They took six days to process a click and collect order in the first week of December - and they charge £2.49 for this service!

Maybe, time this issue was raised with the club. Should be a money spinner, if run and properly promoted. Been a few times on Fridays before matches. Usually a few people milling around but not busy.

I've given them 21 days to get something delivered for Mrs hobbsy for her one. Hoping that is enough!

Funnily enough I emailed them last night for a update of my order which was placed on the 21st of January. I must say that whenever i have ordered something from them it does arrive reasonably quickly.

I'm in the same boat. Assumed 10 days was enough time for it to arrive before my kid's Birthday (this Sunday). There are _so many_ shirts in and around the GTech it can't possibly be a stock issue. What are they doing over there!? Email has been ignored so far and there is no working phone number.

Contact the main manager on LinkedIn. I’ve seen he’s on there ??

Blimey, just thought I'd have a look and see if there was any cheap stuff to pick up from last year's kit... i suppose they are in transition to an extent, with new kit stuff about to be launched, but what a mess of a site... no actual Sale section (nor any link to official shirts), although there was a link at the bottom of the home page to a discounted light blue shirt, but then the link is broken ?

Instead, when you click on Men's, the first option is "Men's Ranges and Collections", which has 14 different options to choose from.

Bad timing on your part I think, up to at least 2 days ago there was an end of season sale on (website was still a mess though!). Presumably it's been updated for the full Joma launch soon.

There are some really good bargains to be had in the physical club shop . I was in there on Tuesday (they said new kit will be launched probably next week but maybe week after) so not long to pick up any deals before all the Umbro stuff goes and Joma stuff moved in

Damn, I've had it on my to-do list for ages to check it out - still bitter i never got any of those lovely turquoise shorts from the 23/24 kit...

Thanks @cd1994 , good info - I'll hopefully be over this time next year, so I'll keep that in mind! (y)

Additional club shop is opening outside the South stand next to the tunnel going down to the platforms on Kew Bridge station.
they been working on it for at least the last month , should be ready soon

I went into the current club shop the other day to see the new shirt and overheard someone ask the member of staff if they ever get to meet the players and the member of staff said yes and that they were all lovely apart from Reguilon who apparently is very arrogant lol and said something along the lines of 'dont you know who I am, I used to play for Real Madrid'

Why dont the club have a shop in one of the nearby shopping centres. Pretty much every club has one. Was in Wimbledon town centre a few weeks ago and AFC Wimbledon had a nice shop front. As do Watford. Why are Brentford in the dark ages

The Club should have profile data on fans that purchase and they ought to be able to, from addresses, work out the central point of all fans that are in the same and close profiles. The closest shopping centre to that would be the one to target.

Mind you, it’d probably be somewhere like Basingstoke!

Maybe Westfield?

Thats more QPR territory. There arent many malls near here. Treaty Centre.
So why have you suggested setting up in a shopping centre if there aren't any? Anyway, in other news, Leeds United have a club shop in Leeds city centre which is bigger than the GTech. And it's always heaving.
