Interesting that he’s been playing centre back for them yet as a right wing back for Dender.

Looking on results so far I would Benjamin will have plenty opportunities to develop his defending. Currently bottom. Two draws so far and two poor results in the last two games.

Moises Caicedo spent time on loan with Beerschot in the Belgian Pro league and really only had one season playing regularly for Brighton before being sold to Chelsea for £115m.

He was already playing regularly for Ecuador by the time he broke into the Brighton side. Parallels there, and shows sending him out on loan doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not deemed a real prospect.

I think there’s a really solid chance Fredrick makes it into our squad in the medium term; given his attributes and position on the pitch (RCB/RB) I suspect it is Ajer blocking his pathway at the moment and with lots of speculation about his long-term future with us, one to keep an eye on.

I don’t know anything about the Belgian club, but I’m sure BFC are well aware of Benji’s situation and would terminate the loan if they felt it was detrimental to his development.

To be fair, quite a few of our players who have gone out on loan were to clubs that were battling to stay in their league, which gives our players a real insight into the realities of professional football where every point earned us extremely important to the livelihoods of all those involved.

The best learning experience is through failure aswell. Benji won’t be happy but will give him first hand experience of being peppered by attackers.

I agree with you. He's a wonderful prospect. It's my impression, he'll be an important player to us in the upcoming years.
I just had higher expectations for him than going to Dender. Apart from Ji Soo and Meghoma I think he's the first loan player since Marcus Forss who has a real chance of being a regular first team player.
Unfortunately Marcus didn't live up to the initial promises.

I agree with on Paris Maghoma, but I was thinking of Jayden Meghoma at Rangers. He'll surely be our future left back. Playing in the Champions League will be good for him.

I think you need to factor in the progress Brentford as a club has made in the last 5 years. 5 years ago we were recruiting young players aged 17 to 19 for small fees for the B team we hoped could progress to Championship level hence their loan options, a huge bonus if they progressed to Premier League level. Last couple of seasons we have been paying decent fees for young players we hope can progress to Premier League level, but if not can generate a decent transfer fee if sold to clubs levels below.

I don’t think the jury is out. He’s better for the loan but probably still not good enough for me.

Should we be relegated (as wise Mr Signy told me, I am glass half empty and it won't happen ) the massive positive is we now have a bunch of exciting, strong, talented young players who would be excellent in the Championship and help us bounce straight back. And this young man is very much in that pack!
