bizarre statements by the owner today. must be terrible being a blackburn fan at the mo. they seem to be everything we'd want Al-Fayed or Fernandes to be :cry:

Very bizzare, it seems they have just woken up to the fact that have actualy been relegated and facing a shortfall of millions as well as prestige which I would guess is very important to them.

They have shown little understanding of how to manage a PL club, they will know even less about managing one in the Football League, a good bet for a second relegation at the moment.

it's all about the owners, surely. if this was happening to our club, we'd be up in arms. ok, maybe some of the protests are inappropriate, but their club is being treated disgracefully. this latest chapter only serves to highlight - what on earth, after all this, is the point of sacking him now?! :rolleyes:

Looks like Venky's are more concerned with falling attendances than results as fans are staying away until Keane is has gone apparently. It is this not their league position which is causing another crisis up there.

Blackburn fans are a strange bunch, one minute singing about being top of the league and then booing Kean the next. Either their happy or not, they cant have the "best" of both worlds IMO. The more this saga has gone on the less i feel for the fans and more i feel for Kean.

I read an interesting article recently which made comaprisons between Ashley at Newcastle and how he has turned it around and made a lot of people look stupid, the article went on to speculate about how perhaps Venkys could be in the process of doing the same. Kean in for me with the start he has made this season (whether he should have got the job in the 1st place is another matter)

No different from any other club. All clubs have fickle fans. You only have to look at the Rosler thread to see similarities here.

Shearer declared interest in the Blackburn job. Now that their supporters are well into the habit of barracking the manager, imagine what they'd do to a club legend once the rot sets in. He hasn't got enough upstairs to even be a mediocre pundit, let alone a manager.

Ridiculous 'sacking' Kean in the first place.. now nearly a month on and they still have no new manager...

Since he left, they have drawn 3 and lost 1 and have slipped down the table. Maybe Kean wasn't the best manager, but at least they were doing reasonably well with him in the Championship.

Having heard one of their spokesmen on Radio 5 some weeks ago and the staggering vitriol aginst SK I am not disappointed to see them struggling even more now. The fans, or a big majority, obviously have this deluded opinion that they have a divine right to be in The Premiership. SK at the least seemed to have a fair bit of dignity.

i have good blackburn friends, these owners are an absolute joke. we'd have been protesting heavily against the manager in similar circumstances.

i just read something on twitter or bbc or something, "come on fellow blackburn fans, we got what we wanted, Kean's gone, let's get back to backing the team" etc etc

like i say, as far as i know, the actual issue for most of them is that their owners are ridiculous. Kean was seen as a Venky's yes man, which is why he was vilified. but getting rid of him was Venky's attempted solution to save face. and as a few mention on here, it too was a ridiculous decision. sad times for them. (though as Mark says, fair to say they had some fun and maybe got a bit too big for their boots, so :shrug: )

So Henning Berg is the new gaffer, I think he'll take them up. Not sure the Blackburn fans know what they want anymore though, mid-table Premiership is the best they can hope for for a while if they go back up.
