I think (hope) he’ll be tempted back for a unification fight (I love watching Fury box) but I wouldn’t be suprised if that is him done, he’s got nothing left to prove and can go out as the the greatest of the recent era.Fury says he is done, not sure i believe it but if it is then its a huge shame we havnt seen him fight aj. Probably good news for joshua though
Should fight Usyk then if he wins will be undisputed and can retire unbeaten - keep saying him being put in best heavyweight conversations but has fought nobody decent yet and is the best of a terrible heavyweight era.
Wilder is a shocking boxer with a knockout punch, Klitschko was past it and was a snoozefest and Whyte is not a top heavyweight so no he has beaten average fighters in a terrible era ?Klitschko, Wilder and Whyte not even qualify as "decent" now he's beat them then?
Not to mention the fact he went to Klitschko and Wilders own back yards and took their titles off them in between bouts of severe mental health issues and massive weight gains.
Is he the best ever? No, I don't think so but the man deserves an enormous amount of respect for what he has achieved in the game.
Lewis beats Fury every day and twice on Sunday - easily top 10 in history in a much tougher period.Lennox Lewis KOs any of todays top 10 heavyweights.
Wilder is a shocking boxer with a knockout punch, Klitschko was past it and was a snoozefest and Whyte is not a top heavyweight so no he has beaten average fighters in a terrible era ?![]()
Knocked out by a 40 year old Povetkin - hmm not convinced he is that good, totally susceptible to an uppercut as shown again last night. It is a terrible era so if you put the 3 you mention in Lewis era probably only a younger version of Klitschko stands up and frankly his brother was miles better anyway.Typical behaviour of some boxing fans who try and claim someone is a bum as soon as they get beaten.
Trying to claim Klitschko, Wilder and Whyte are not decent fighters makes you look foolish.
WK was a 10 year reigning champ who gave AJ the business in their fight before getting tired and that was 2 years after Fury beat the "past it" version of him.
Whyte may not be elite as was proven last night but his record proves he is at the very least "decent" and he deserved his title shot.
Knocked out by a 40 year old Povetkin - hmm not convinced he is that good
Wilder is a shocking boxer with a knockout punch, Klitschko was past it and was a snoozefest and Whyte is not a top heavyweight so no he has beaten average fighters in a terrible era ?Usyk is a very good boxer but a cruiserweight who would give Fury issues with his style.
Come on. Klitscho was heavyweight champion of the world for 10 consecutive years before Fury beat him. He was not 'past it'. Wilder has smashed everyone else he's fought as well.Wilder is a shocking boxer with a knockout punch, Klitschko was past it and was a snoozefest and Whyte is not a top heavyweight so no he has beaten average fighters in a terrible era ?Usyk is a very good boxer but a cruiserweight who would give Fury issues with his style.
I didn't say useless but in the history of heavyweights the current crop are pretty poor - don't think you can deny that. Fair play he has beaten everyone put in front of him but I am not convinced Fury is as good as he is made out to be and needs a couple more wins as he has really only beaten 3 top 10 heavyweights in his career. I want to see a unification v Uysk - if he wins in style then I might be more convinced as I feel that is a real tricky fight as AJ found out.Yes he got caught by a terrific shot by Povetkin which can happen in heavyweight boxing but he beat him up for every other second of both fights against him. As I say he is not elite but he a good fringe contender and a tough, tough man.
Yes I agree LL would beat Fury but that is hardly an insult considering Lennox is one of TBE.
If you want to claim everyone in the division is useless and not give them any respect then that is up to you I guess ?
Yes he is the best I am.not arguing that point - but the best of a bad era. Wilder is a terrible boxer who possesses one of the hardest punches in history which means he hasn't needed to learn how to box technically.Come on. Klitscho was heavyweight champion of the world for 10 consecutive years before Fury beat him. He was not 'past it'. Wilder has smashed everyone else he's fought as well.
Fury can only beat what's in front of him and he's done that time and again. He is the best heavyweight boxer of this era.
Who does Fury need to fight that is ‘decent’?Wilder is a shocking boxer with a knockout punch, Klitschko was past it and was a snoozefest and Whyte is not a top heavyweight so no he has beaten average fighters in a terrible era ?Usyk is a very good boxer but a cruiserweight who would give Fury issues with his style.
He retired one fight later after getting ko'd by AJ - I think my point that he was past his best stands to reason, he may have been unbeaten for 10 years but eventually age catches up with you.Sorry but that is sh1te. Fury was brilliant against Klitschko, he went to his backyard and totally outboxed him.
Lennox Lewis by all accountsWho does Fury need to fight that is ‘decent’?
Well Usyk is probably the best of the rest - frankly AJ is not as good as I thought he was initially so would probably go the same way as Whyte.Who does Fury need to fight that is ‘decent’?
That would be worth watching. Usyk was a class above AJ.Well Usyk is probably the best of the rest
He would be easily the most awkward fight of Furys career - excellent technically but probably not got the power to knock him out so likely to go to pointsThat would be worth watching. Usyk was a class above AJ.
Neither was Alis and he is regarded as the best of all time ?Lennox Lewis's record is not exactly flawless. He beat Tyson (the original) when he was well past it, was twice knocked out by journeymen, and when he fought Vitaly Klitschko he was saved from a fight he was losing by a cut and immediately retired.
On what basis have you concluded that Klitschko was past it?He retired one fight later after getting ko'd by AJ - I think my point that he was past his best stands to reason, he may have been unbeaten for 10 years but eventually age catches up with you.
Yeah he’s the only decent one left that would be nice to tick off but wouldn’t need to imo. I’d like to see it, would be an interesting match up.Well Usyk is probably the best of the rest - frankly AJ is not as good as I thought he was initially so would probably go the same way as Whyte.
Well he was 39 for starters so nobody is telling me he was in his prime - I watched the fight and yes Fury is an excellent technical boxer but he looked slow and ponderous and like age had caught up with him. AJ fight he looked better but that is due to AJs style and got knocked out and retired afterwards which would suggest that he felt he was past his peak ?On what basis have you concluded that Klitschko was past it?
Fury is the best of this era, I think Usyk is a better boxer but Fury's size wins him it should it happen. Comparing across generations is pretty impossible but Fury's achievements have arguably matched those of previous greats. People seem to assume the likes of Lewis fought world class fighters every fight.. It wasn't like that at all...
He retired one fight later after getting ko'd by AJ - I think my point that he was past his best stands to reason, he may have been unbeaten for 10 years but eventually age catches up with you.
Technically good especially for a guy of 6 ft 9 and the best of this era without doubt - just not convinced he is quite as good as some people make him out to be which has been my argument from the beginning.Do you think Fury is very, very good boxer?

Fair enough - the whole point of this board is about opinions and as long as you can present a logical argument I have no issue with you having a different opinion to mine ?..... and we will never know as you can't compare eras. In my opinion his size, technical ability, boxing brain and now his punch power make him a very special boxer.
Wasnt a classic and I thought know way could the Ruski get a points decision as Canel a far bigger payday especially against GGG, so fair play to the judges who actually all squared it identical.Canelo loses to Bivol in a huge upset - guess moving up weight classes will eventually catch up with you and your power diminishes. Any talk of a Usyk fight now firmly put away.
Boxers only ever retire due to medical advice, or when the offers stop coming in..Seems a strange fight to come out of retirement for.
Aj seems to have gone mental post fight!
he knows hes pretty much ready for the scrapyard now thats whyAj seems to have gone mental post fight!
Fury beats everyone.Fury beats Usyk for me. AJ had him rocking a couple of times, but Usyk recovery is something to behold.
