Joe Joyce beaten by Zhang. Referee stops the fight in the 6th round after advice from the doctor.

Zhang had repeatedly hit Joyce with straight lefts which had closed Joyce’s right eye up after barely 2 rounds.

V disappointing from Joyce who now seems a long way away from being a genuine heavyweight contender.

Tbh .. it was the first time I had watched a Joe Joyce fight and never really knew too much about him. The first thing that shocked me was to realise he’s 37!! There was me thinking he was an up & coming youngish fighter but they went on to say he won a silver at the London Olympics .. made sense.
I thought he looked wooden and slow, all he had was his jab and kept on throwing the left a bit similar to Zhang, only Zhang’s punches were getting through.
I don’t think AJ, Usyk, Fury & Co have much to worry about here

He won a silver at Rio not London so the announcer messed that up.
Very disappointing though. You would think someone with an amatuer pedigree wouldn't offer such a standing target.

I love Joe Joyce. But he was sleepwalking. Zhang very accurate and great job from him ?. Anyone who watched Zhang previously knew he’d be dangerous for about 4 then his output would drop and he’d start to blow… which he did. But Joyce let him do what he wanted in those danger rounds. Poor performance. Hopefully eye doesn't keep him out too long.

I’ve said this before, I’m no Colin Hart or Steve Bunce, but the World Boxing scene seems so lame these days compared to the 80’s & 90’s .. can’t believe that the USA can’t produce a decent heavyweight to challenge the Europeans. Will we ever see a Mike Tyson type fighter again some who who puts the fear of god into you (and that’s just the audience!)

If you want an American. Look out for Jared Anderson, only 23 and looks a big talent.

Watched a young heavy from Bath fight the other day...fast with all the tools.... a bit like a young Ali.....dont know his name though.... You Reds....

I think in all honesty Wilder is possibly the hardest hitting heavyweight of all time. Nostalgia will probably say otherwise of course, but I think Wilder beats everyone apart from Fury (including Usyk) just through shear power.

I think that actual problem is the lack of will to fight, it's a really disappointing era for the big fights.

Masterplan to stand back and let the referee win it for you! What made the other guy keep holding & mauling, after having had points deducted for it already? On one of the knockdowns, he was still trying to hang on to the guy’s leg as he went down! Not the best example of the noble art last night..

Okolie looked short on everything last night and this fight was only 62 days after his last one.
He annoyed me with his constant falling into Smith and single handedly disrupted the contest.
He needs a break and then get back to training where he can geýt fitness up first and foremost and learn how to trade and move those feet.
Well done to CBS though.
Be a good champ.

At long last, we get a proper world title fight last night. Errol Spence v Terence Crawford
Though didn't expect it to be so one sided. Meeting of styles and it was going to be either about Spence's power or Crawford's ring brain.

The latter won very comfortably and Crawford a step further into greatness. Three weight champion and two of those undisputed.

Rematch clause in there. Spence will need to be better and I expect he will be. But the first time in a good career I've seen him flustered, let alone outclassed.

Crawford already a great, now his best ever performance on the biggest stage possible.

Amanda Serrano v Heather Hardy was unbelievable. I'm aware people on here wont support the influencer boxing stuff but the undercards are worth watching. At least we're getting fights when these youtubers create the events.

Agreed. This has the potential of being a very decent era of heavyweights but all we've had in the last few years is fighters avoiding each other.

I think Wilder KO's him within 3 rounds, there wasn't anything majorly encouraging about that. Helenius left himself open for 7 rounds and he finally took advantage. He will be even more tentative against Wilder and it'll get him knocked out early IMO.

He got the job done, but against an absolute nobody it took wilder one round to ko helenius. Joshua should fight wilder next be a good payday for both, saying that wilder is not the same after fury demolished him.

Oh yeah Helenius isn't a great opponent. He was a last minute replacement and Helenius was far more gung ho in the fight against Wilder. He will fight Wilder next I believe and it will be a good fight. Both Joshua and Wilder are technically pretty poor boxers but it will be a great watch. I don't understand why Joshua gets so much grief

I have zero excitement for Wilder vs Joshua now. AJ is mentally finished, he’s scared every time he throws a punch. It’s a real shame. We’ll put up with months of bullshit promoting and it’s so obvious that a mentally finished fighter is getting KO’d comfortably, no intrigue to it.
I wish for boxings sake Joshua could snap out of it, but he can’t, he’s done. I used to have him down to beat wilder and fury but once he realised his chin was far from granite the rest of him crumbled.

One thing I didn't like is with relief there seemed to be a ton of arrogance that came back into him after the KO. I think people dislike AJ because he got found out by a decent boxer in a boxing sense and personality wise.
I will look forward to AJ v Wilder (if it gets made) but I think he's finished within a few rounds unfortunately.

At his peak AJ would have knocked him out inside 3 rounds but now he labours to a win in 7. He's never been the same since that Ruiz defeat and I'd expect Wilder to beat him if they do fight next.

Its ridiculous it has gotten to this stage without joshua fighting either fury or wilder. Now fury and wilder are past their prime but would probably still beat aj if it ever happens

I was shouting at the TV, 'go and check on your opponent you arrogant pr1ck'. That was awful last night and just fuels my dislike for him as a distinctly average boxer. He showed a lack of class against Usyk after the 2nd fight and again last night.

The most telling thing last night was at the end of the 5th or 6th round he said to his corner thst he can't find the opportunity to through the big right, there were loads of opportunities to throw it but he chose not to.
