Anyone have an early opinion of Eubank jnr?
Looks decent, tough and has similar traits to his old man.
Appears to lack power..!!

Fury on next........we'll see if hes fit to lace David Price's shoes. :cutthecrap:

Agreed. Puts his shots together really well, but if he had a decent level of power, he would have stopped Price the other night. He's still young, and that may come.

Boxing

.............Eubank fights again tonight.............

Boxing

Just watched that on YouTube!! A punch from Marquez, a second before the bell, knocked Pacquiao out cold!! Finally, Marquez gets a win he deserves, after Pacquiao beat him twice and a draw.

I watched a bit of DeGale last night, :zzzzz: what a show pony, why can't some of these hyped up boxers just box? He wouldn't stand a chance v Froch, Ward, Kessler or Abraham for a World title. Also, I'm not sure Eubank jnr has the power to knock opponents out, he may have the boxing ability, but come up against a top level fighter will be a tough ask for him......

Boxing

Khan out boxed Molina. Winning every round? Molina threw in the towel after 10 rounds. Maybe the change of coach has done him some good?

Boxing

Has a very dodgy chin.
He has terrific speed.
The key to Khan is keeping his hands up after an attack.
Could be one of the greats if he had a chin like Froch.
I rate Kell Brook as a better boxer.

Boxing

Perhaps, hard to gauge on just one fight. He still dropped his guard and left his chin out. I still think he won the Peterson fight and was caught from a worldie by Garcia. If he boxes with same patience and composure in the alleged rematch, he will probably win.

Good to see Groves outclass Glen Johnson, still on course for a world title shot.

Bees Fan - Pro Boxer

We have a professional boxer amongst our ranks!! :box:

Many of you may well know Joe Smith. A few of us went to watch his lad Trevor "scrapper" Smith in his second professional fight at the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley last Saturday. Trevor won relatively comfortably against an experienced opponent over six twos. (A few of the lads also saw Trevor win on his professional debut in Slough back in November - I couldn't make it )

Trevor walked into the ring (and left the arena) in his Brentford hat :hat: and both he and Joe made a point of coming and thanking us for our support. He enjoyed good support on the night (numbers and noise).

If you like your boxing I know Trevor (and Joe) would greatly appreciate your support at his future fights. I'll keep you updated on here of upcoming bouts

I'll also try and get a picture of Trevor after the fight at Crawley put on here. Sadly that is beyond my technological skills :computer::nono:

Come on Scrapper and come on you Bees!!

The last fight I saw on British soil was Andy Till against Robert McCracken at Watford town hall. I was metaphorically scarred for life, some were just scarred for life. I was one of the lucky ones. Despicable scenes :(

Looks like he's down to fight on the 9th at the thistle at Heathrow, I'm not going to be able to make that one as I'll be at Carlisle.

Yes, Trevor's next scheduled bout is Saturday 9th March at the Thistle Hotel, Heathrow (near the McDonalds that was once the Peggy Bedford pub). It's a dinner show. I'll also be at Carlisle as our prpmotion run in starts to hot up but if anyone is interested in going to see Trevor at the Thistle Hotel give me a shout/PM.

Boxing

Went to Prizefighter event last night, even Audley "please don't hit me" Harrison put in a couple of good bouts

Boxing

Trevor "Scapper" Smith's fight scheduled for this Saturday (9th March, Thistle hotel) has been cancelled.

His next fight is now scheduled for April in East London. I'm guessing a Sunday at the York Hall but I will confirm details on here very shortly. It would be good to have a few Bees fans there to support the Bees fan.

You could run a boat trip there mate !!

Boxing

In a way CW was quite lucky the bloke wouldn't go outside but fair play that's another Internet bully dealt with!

Boxing

Matthews v Crolla, an amazing fight which ends in a draw! Looking forward to the next re-match and now time for the Bellew fight. Live on Sky Sports 1.

Boxing

Don't normally watch boxing but saw this tonight .. Blimey proper sportsmanship they battered each other and still were interviewed together

Boxing

Bellew fight is boring, definitely not world class standard.

As both fighters struggled to land a decisive blow, it was all to play for heading into the final round. Chilemba landed a right followed by a counter left hook to Bellew's temple as the Englishman only sporadically forced the action.

One judge scored the fight 116-112 for Chilemba, another 116-115 for Bellew and the third had it level at 114-114 to declare a draw and leave both men disappointed. A rematch now appears likely.

Ended in a draw then........ Too much hype on this fighter.

Trevor "Scrapper" Smith fights on 27 April

Trevor's next fight has been confirmed for Saturday 27th April at the York Hall, Bethnal Green. Hopefully we'll be celebrating promotion with our last game of the season earlier the same day.

All I know about Trevor's opponent is that he is also unbeaten - no idea how many fights.

Joe Smith will be giving me details soon but tickets are £35 each.

So, if you fancy a bit of boxing after our last game of the season (and hopefully lots of celebrating) give me a shout.

Roll on Saturday night fight night for Froch v Kessler. I am there! Hopefully Froch can knock him out - seems more focused this time!

Me too. Very excited to get the chance to watch this fight, should be a cracker..!!
With Bellew & Groves also fighting on the undercard, this should make it a terrific night of boxing.

:imwith:

Boxing

Just got home from O2, what a fight. If only it had 1 more extra minute in that last round as it would have been a knockout.
There are some right knobs that go to boxing though.........

Boxing

Froch v Groves pencilled in for late November / start of December. Not a bad fight – must be close to calling it a day now is Froch – 3 fights left?

Could be a good scrap this – Groves is up and coming and learning. Froch will be keen to knock him out though!

Groves is an excellent up / coming fighter but I cannot see anything other than a stoppage for Froch.
The both have similar power but I believe Froch has a far superior chin to be troubled.
Groves maybe a world-champ one day though.

Boxing

Froch v Groves confirmed for Manchester on November 23rd. Now to sort out the logistics to get to Manchester from Molineux.

On another note, former WBO heavyweight champ and star of Rocky V, Tommy Morrison has reportedly died.

Wasn't Morrison the guy that had HIV, then he didn't, then he did......................
