Remember, Mayweather never really wanted the fight, so if Pacquiao pulled out he would never get the fight again, would be ridiculed and would be said HE was the one never intending to fight, or worse - would be blamed on steroids etc

i s'pose, though injuries happen. i think he'd retain more credibility if he pulled out and went for shoulder surgery before the fight, rather than struggle and then blame an undeclared injury. but we'll never know so we'll call it a draw (you can claim the win cos you probably outpunched me :box: )

If he's injured, then he is injured. However, if you don't talk about it before, don't bring it up after.
Don't really see why boxing would have suffered. It's just the way things are. People's heads are turned by glitz and glamour, then the next shiny thing comes along and they turn their attention to that. Boxing is a niche sport nowadays and will be. The fight was ok. Intriguing if not entertaining. There are many other issues that turn people off boxing than perceived snorefests. Don't like Mayweather's persona, but in the ring, he is on it.

Great win for Kell Brook this morning, well worth the early alarm call.
As I've alluded to before, this can be a great era for British boxing and I can see other world champions from these shores adding to the already growing list.
Khan v Brook is a fight that I'll be attending if it comes to fruition.
Well done Kell.......deserved world champion.

Haven't seen Froch's retirement mentioned on here anywhere else. Sad to see him retire as he was one of the boxers I really enjoyed watching fight, a proper warrior. However it feels like the right decision at the right time so fair play to him.

That was probably a bit too close for the Frampton camp at times and they may well be disappointed but would have gained a lot of knowledge and experience from it - and they got the win so the gamble of staging the fight to attract American fans and television has hopefully paid off !

I think Fury is in with a shout, Klitschko hasn't fought many people with a comparable reach before, and if fury can stay disciplined he may be able to wear him down.

enjoyed that Saturday night (until the Crolla decision) - was up late working anyway 
so just flicked on, didn't realise it was happening, nice to have quality British boxing on two sides of the Atlantic at the same time.
Fury is funny - but let's hope he can actually lay hands on Klitschko. we've seen people talk a good game before.

I went to his after fight party when he beat Castillo in Vegas.
Was a top top bloke and had time for everyone there.
It was always about the fans for him and he was as proud of us as we were of him.

Both boxers were also shown on terestrial TV.
Hatton, no doubt about was a one off.
Only shown on SKY (I believe) which makes it an even bigger achievement.
He had a massive public following from all over the country and I very much doubt that any boxer will ever replicate an away following of such numbers again.

Probably down to sanctioning bodies handing out World Titles more freely than copies of Watchtower at a Jehoviah's Witness convention.
Case in point The WBA World Middleweight Title.
The holder of this belt is USA's Daniel Jacobs, who defended it last on 1st August, when he TKO'd Segio Mora in two rounds and had a defence lined up against Peter Quillin in December.
A couple of days ago, Alfonso Blanco outpointed Sergey Khomitsky for the interim WBA World Middleweight Title. Why these two are fighting for the World Title (Blanco is 11-0 and ranked 30th by Boxrec's independent points based reanking system, Khomitsky is 30-12-3 and ranked 57th) when Jacobs defended it 6 weeks ago and has his next defence is already lined up is beyond me.
This is even more baffling as Chris Eubank Jr won this interim belt back in February (seems a long time to go without a defence, but there you go) and is down to defend it in 12 days time!!!!! So does that make Blanco the interim-interim champion? If it wasn't bad enough when you had 3 different champion (WBC, WBA, IBF) you now have three people claiming to have possession of the exact same belt.

Was hoping for a classic but Smith screamed out of the blocks and caught Fielding cold!
I really rate Smith and think him and Degale could rule the Super-middle for a while.
Really good domestic division with Groves & Murray in the mix too.
I like Fielding and he can BANG so hope he comes back stronger for the experience.
Smith looked a beast and can see him fighting Badou Jack for the world title
