Boxing

Fury beats Joshua 9/10 times with Joshua landing a big shot in the 1/10.

in terms of boxing ability, hand speed and movement there is no contest.

Boxing

As against that, you know AJ will be in tiptop shape going into the fight, whereas you can never be certain of that with Fury.

Fury has never been in tiptop shape so that won’t come into it at all.
Fury without question is the better boxer, AJ the bigger puncher.
Fury wins unless AJ blasts him out of there....intriguing but banana is probably correct with his draw prediction. ?

He got away with it in some of his earlier fights against lesser opponents, but he won't do so against AJ.

That said, unless/until we know what shape he's in, I agree Fury's still got to be favourite.

Boxing

Fury was in great condition for Wilder II. He knows what’s at stake v Joshua and will do nothing to compromise that.

If Fury manages the fight as he did against Wilder, he’ll win hands down. If Joshua can get on the inside and land the uppercut (see it’s success v Whyte, Klitschko, Pulev) then he’s got a good chance.

Boxing

Feels as though Joshua has been waiting until Fury is past his best condition, which you do feel isn’t far off.

Both fighters at their peak there is only one winner.

Great for the UK to have 2 Heavyweight Champs though.

? fury is 32 and joshua 31, fury is probably in the best condition of his life since coming back

Boxing

I would have loved to see AJ v Wilder rather than Wilder Fury 2. I think Fury did AJ a huge favour getting Wilder out of the picture. I am not convinced AJ would have got through that eliminator.
Would be a crying shame if we are still under restrictions by the time, Fury Joshua comes along. Deserves a big fight atmosphere.

Boxing

Strange how Fury is so loved for a bloke that is a complete and utter fruit loop

Boxing

I find it more difficult to understand why AJ is so adored when he is such a bland, corporate shill.

I swear if you looked closely enough you could actually see Eddie Hearn turn the key in his back sometimes.

Not by me.

Boxing

Fury is the better boxer and won’t let Joshua get close enough for his upper cut. Fury went and done Klitschko in his own back yard, Joshua waited until he was past it and still struggled at Wembley.

18 months between the fights?! ?

Boxing

Joshua was ahead on 2 of the scorecards and had landed more punches. He’d also put Wlad down 3 times by the time it was stopped.

But sure, he struggled. ??
To be fair klitschko had just qualified for his free bus pass

Is it wrong that Josh Warrington’s love-in for Leeds Utd on his walk out makes me want him to lose this fight?

Yes.
However, he’s not looked great in the first 3 rounds.
Previous fight was a disgraceful decision.....horrendous judging ?

Got his arse kicked.

Got his arse kicked.
Pundits said it should’ve been stopped after the 4th. He briefly rallied but the k/o looked like it was a matter time and pretty uncomfortable watching. Boxing remains a brutal sport at times.

Boxing

No site, no fight... Still plenty of time for either to pull out if they are unhappy with date or destination etc. I’m a massive boxing fan, but this has been agreed/signed on about 5 occasions . Shame they can’t knock each other out at the same time and the belts go to Usyk vs Joyce :sorted:

Boxing

Plus Fury reckons he has been downing 12 pints a day so I reckon his conditioning might be a bit off.

Dillion Whyte puts Povetkin down in the 4th.Ref stops fight just as the towel comes flying through the air.
Good win for DW. Povetkin did not look right from the first bell.
His legs looked heavy and a sad way to see him get beat that way, but DW is a good boxer and let's see where he goes next.

Don't know how these things work, but won't they go for a best of three?

That fight was over as soon as the first punch was thrown as you say, Povetkin didn't look right from the off.

Boxing

I would be very happy to see Whyte fight Wilder next. Final eliminator for world title tilt.
100% will be won by KO by either fighter.
The lead up will be very entertaining too. ??‍♂️

Yep. Two third division lummoxes gassing after 6 rounds.

Boxing

Two sh*t boxers from what I could tell. @Willo ?
I would not call Povetkin sh*t. Okay he wasn't at the races last night and that was obvious from the first bell, but an amateur career of 125 wins - 7 defeats (all defeats avenged) and a decent pro record for 16 years where he has been beaten by Wladimer Klitscho, Anthony Joshua and Dillion Whyte winning 36 drawing 1 and being Wba Champion.
He can retire knowing he was very good, but his last fight will haunt him.
He could retire now, but I am not sure if he will.

Boxing

Whyte has been very unlucky not to get a world title shot already after being mandatory for Wilders title until he lost. Unfortunately it looks like he will have to wait another 12 months as Fury and Joshua are close to agreeing a double header.

Agree with the poster above that Wilder seems to be the only real option for him but a huge risk - maybe Joe Joyce in a domestic clash is an alternative?

Boxing

Wouldn’t describe either as sh*t at all.
Very, very good in this weight class where anyone can get KOd.
Maybe Whyte v Ruiz next if Wilder doesn’t fancy it?
Maybe Joyce could be a goer too.
Both these boxers Whyte & Povetkin are a level below the elite 2 or 3.
Whyte can definitely bang and can take a whack too.
I don’t think there’s ever been a heavyweight that finished his career unbeaten and there has been some beasts over the years.
? OUT ?

Boxing

The Courtney v bridges fight was good. Proper toe to toe. Great booby points for Nocoat as well.

Boxing

Dereck Chisora threatening to flounce off and not fight if he has to ring walk before Parker.

What a prat.
