BWP
We've got our forwards. If another is sought, I can see it being a loanee, if one is required. Thanks BWP for last season but I cannot see us signing him for the coming one.
I see a young pacy loanee coming in and some names could spring to mind once the Premiership teams gave their squads sorted nearer the start of the season. Maybe if Hayes leaves things will change but Donaldson, Farid, Grigg and loanee would do it. It is important that Norris also challenges and is in or aroud the squad too a sthis is his make or break season.
If he's good enough I'll be happy with Norris. I'm not sure he'll be the the difference though.
He won't be the difference but he will need to do a decent job .
How many times did that work last season and more to the point at Wembley?all for 5k a week no thanks.
April 16 last, vs. Sheffield United. Last-minute equaliser.
I've got a feeling that we will see a much improved Hayes this season if he's given the chance. For whatever reason things just didn't click for him last year but even then you could plainly see that there was a pretty good player in there somewhere, and one with a track record of success at this level. But even so, if the budget stretches to it and he is happy to be rotated in and out of the side (two big ifs) I'd love to see BWP return. I can't recall many cooler more natural finishers in the red and white over the years.
Agree with this entirely. Hayes is an intelligent player who did not deserve the abuse heaped on him from some quarters last season but who proved to be less than prolific when it came to putting the ball in the net. BWP, by contrast, scored four goals in the nine games he started. In the five games in which he came on as a sub, he scored in one (Sheffield United) and in
another (Swindon) may or may not have contributed - I don't know, I wasn't there - to a Donaldson winner. Judged by results, at least, there's no contest. I very much doubt BWP will be able to command a £5,000-a-week salary here or anywhere else, and if we can get him on decent terms he'd be a useful acquisition, with Hayes likely to be lent out as he was last season or perhaps sold on.
Hypa, with all due respect you didn't see Hayes or BWP play last season and don't know what BWP's agent is asking for so best you follow from afar rather than tell us how it is.
you (...) don't know what BWP's agent is asking for
As a matter of interest, do you know how much BWP's agent is asking for, and if so how?
I didn't see any games last season.
Did Trotta score the penalty?

I do know what he was on at both Plymouth and Charlton, how is my business. Someone else made the point it's none of the fans business if MB wants a player that I agree with to some extent.
However, I wouldn't want and don't expect him to suddenly
start buying any available forwards at any price because he can afford them. That would cause friction and potentially ruin the fantastic team spirit we have seen built over the last season.
That's a fair response, and I agree with your more general comment. But I'd expect BWP's agent to be realistic enough to know that his client is not going to fetch the same degree of interest now that Charlton have released him, so that the £5k-a-week figure is to some extent hypothetical. And I'd argue that a return of four goals per nine starts, as per last season, would amount to 20 league goals if extended over a whole season, which might be worth getting the cheque-book out for - subject to the size of the cheque, of course.
Agents being realistic is a fallacy,BWP was on 10k + a week at Charlton of which we paid a percentage.Would expect them to be holding out for a lot more than the average div 1 wage.
Agreed. Just don't think BWP is the man for us. The goal scoring abilities of Grigg and Farid for us are unknown at present, also their ability to combine well with Donaldson. But it looks like it could be promising. In reply to BRbee, I think our biggest failing was goalscoring last season. If Hayes moves on, we definitely need another forward. Grigg may well make a nonsense of this post in due course.
No interest in seeing BWP at Griffin Park again. He is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is.
He's better than you.:shake:
Agreed. Bet I would try harder though.

Was this what you meant?

Perhaps, but I will never forget his equaliser at Sheffield Utd!!
That moment at Brammall Lane was one of my all time best supporting the Bees.
Don't think it is worth breaking the bank for Bradley but it was so good to have a striker that looked like he wasn't interested and then could roll the ball inch perfect into the net. Can't recall us having that quality much as we tend to be more interested in those who look like they are busting
their lungs.
Thanks BWP.
BWP's record for us last season was impressive considering he wasnt really fit. Im all for offering BWP a contract but on our terms. Give him the offer and if he wants to play for Brentford that much then he will sign it.

That was a superb moment and the celebrations that followed made it a very special game but you know what we should have won it.

Never never want him playing for Brentford again, his behavour v's Doncaster will never be forgotten by me.
What did he do against Doncaster?
